Hip Hop Influence in Politics

Episode in Talk Iz Cheap
Today we are going to be talking about Ice Cube and Hip Hop Influence in politics. Hip-hop has always been political, as the essence of rap was about highlighting injustices that were/are happening in communities in which people have felt neglected. However, educating rap fans on the importance of elections shows how far the influence of hip-hop culture can reach.

Houston Radio

Episode in Talk Iz Cheap
In today’s episode of Talk Iz Cheap, our hosts will be talking about the current state of Houston radio. Views on Houston Radio Many stations have come and went. Our hosts have always listened to different types of music on the radio in Houston, but they noticed that some artists are exposed less than others. They are calling Houston radio and all other stations to support their people and authors. Support of Local Artists Our hosts discussed local artists and the competition they face; they want to hear Houston artists throughout the day. There are many commercial stations in the city that showcase out-of-town artists, but really, they should be supporting local artists and helping them increase their reach. These local artists aren’t played on the radio in other areas, so our hosts believe that local stations shouldn’t be so supportive of artists outside of Houston. How Artists Were Able to Survive Without Radio Play In the late 90s, artists were able to survive without depending on radio play because they could get decent income from selling tapes. Tapes were very popular back in the day, so it was easier for artists to gain exposure. Freestyling and shows were a thing as well, which helped even more. Conclusion Fans have to support local artists by streaming them online and going to their shows. Give the artist a chance to do his thing while you are in the crowd. That will help them grow.  Giveaway The first five people to share this episode will receive a free T-shirt!

What if America loved Black People as much as they love Black Culture?

Episode in Talk Iz Cheap
Zeaky Bobby, a Houston DJ for more than 20 years and a radio person on 90.1 FM, and Kedric, a Civil Engineering Inspector / Technician, bring to us their brand-new podcast Talk Iz Cheap. This podcast broadcasts to the listeners about whatever is going on in Houston and its surrounding areas. Today’s topic, a loved one by Kedric, is about if America loved black people as much as they loved black culture.  They start by introducing what black culture is and how many things have been stolen from black people; Zeak and Kedric also believe that the black people themselves have been stolen through slavery.  After a lengthy discussion about all the ways black people didn’t receive credit, our hosts jump to the main topic. Kedric believes that the world would have been a better place if people rocked with black people the way they rocked with black culture, and Zeak agrees, saying that peace and unity make the world a better place.  Kedric shares with us that he’s come across a few predictions saying that in around 2030, white people will be the minority. Zeak agrees, supporting that claim using the fact that the whole new generation dresses like, acts like, and follows black culture. Kedric wants people to embrace each other and black culture to be recognized; he asks others to treat black people equally if they want the people and culture to prosper. Zeak stresses that black people themselves have to embrace each other and all their culture -not just hip hop and weed, but all the festive days and traditions.  Follow them on social media:  Instagram: TalkIzCheapClutchCity   Facebook: TalkIzCheap  Website: talkizcheap.com
