Welcome to October's podcast. It's that time of year again when we reluctantly pack away our summer clothes, tidy up the gardens and get ready for winter. So this month we are all about keeping warm and saving money! Download and listen now to hear from our Environmental Manger Simon, who gives us hints and tips on how to save money and keep warm this winter. We interview Mrs Jam (Linda) from North Yorkshire and see how she started and built up her business and how Yorkshire Housing have been supporting her. Linda also takes in lodgers and David Register from our South team talks about what tenants might need to do to have lodgers. We also hear from David Perry, who is Chair of our customer services committee, about what they are doing and how they would like to connect with customers.

We also hear from Mel from our Income team providing information about some of the rent and service charge charges affecting customers. Community Investment Manager Gill Robinson talks with us about some interesting opportunities for customers to get involved with us.

We also hear about FoodWork's 5th birthday party at Kala Sangam in Bradford and interview some people who have helped FoodWorks be a success as well as those who have taken part in the celebration.

He tells us about the support he receives from his independent living officer Toni and she lets us know what its like to be an ILO. We also hear from Charlotte Usher about her journey from an apprenticeship into work and the support she received along the way.

She also tells us how Adam and Ayesha from our ASB team have helped her through it and how life is now so much better. We also hear more about our Business Enterprise service and meet Paul who, with the help of Sheila a business enterprise coach, has set up his own business.
