Most discussions will contain sensitive topics and also culturally taboo content.

These are our own opinions and experiences and not a representation of our families or any third party.

We reside in Sydney, Australia - however our traditions and culture are still deeply rooted.

You are enough - Self-love is not selfish. (Motivational talk)

Episode in Talks with En
Motivational talk You are enough - Self-love is not selfish. “There comes a point in our life, where we feel inadequate, worthless, and exhausted and most of the time we are exhausted because we have invested our time to people or a certain individual all of our time, effort, and love to only be taken advantage of. They teach to treat people the same way we want to be treated but never emphasised the importance that not everyone will treat you the same way you treat them, even individuals you love and care about and that is where it becomes exhausting and you lose sight of your self-worth. But today that needs to change. Because You matter, you deserve to be happy, you are strong, you are confident and just like everyone, you have strengths and weaknesses but most importantly – you, you are enough!” – Talks with En

Within the Tongan culture - The Fahu

Episode in Talks with En
S01 EP08 Topic: "What are the roles of the fahu, and why do some fahu take advantage of it in a negative way" Within the Tongan culture, the role of your Aunties vary depending on which side of the family they are from. You fathers sisters are called your mehikitanga, and usually the eldest sister is the fahu, and she is the matriarch of the family. The fahu is most respected and praised within the Tongan culture, but it is very unfortunate that some negativily take advantage of their role and mistreat their family members. According to our very own opinion the following role of the fahu is considered below: She is the Matriach of the family. The fahu usually sits at the front table of a wedding and birthday, they're considered VIP and are given money, gifts and cakes or whatever the family has planned but at these occasions she is highly recognized and uplifted, At a funeral the fahu, will sit by the head of the deceased and will also receive gifts and usually provided meals separate from the others and after the funeral, she cuts the hair of those she is entitled to - hair represents wealth in Tonga so when it is being cut its part of the traditional grieving process within the culture

Pressured to get married because you're pregnant

Episode in Talks with En
S01 EP04 Topic: "The pressures of getting married because you’re pregnant” Sharing our own opinions as this happens often within the Pacific Island community - where it’s expected for you to marry the mother or father of your child even if you both don’t want to. And it is one of those things that no one really wants to talk about because it’s a taboo topic and so called shameful so rather than doing what’s best for the child, many pressures are focused on the opinions of others which is solely based on religious and cultural views.
