The Substance (Demi Moore, Margaret Qualley, Dennis Quaid, directed by Coralie Fargeat) is the talk of the town and one of the creatively interesting films in this year's Oscar contenders. In this ep Baron and the Doc have a great discussion about the film and a couple great reminds me ofs.

Baron and the Doc are not particularly entertained by Ridley Scott's swords and sandals sequel, Gladiator II, starring Paul Mescal, Denzel Washington and Pedro Pascal. But they still find the energy to compare it to the much better film, 300 (Zack Snyder) and the much worse Speed 2: Cruise Control (Jan de Bont). Baron and the Doc get a little fanatical about Hugh Grant's performance in the new horror film Heretic, directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods and also starring Sophie Thatcher and Chloe East. Then... they compare the film Saw (created by aussies, James Wan and Leigh Whannell) and Doc gets heretical and chooses the 2007 remake of Funny Games for his reminds me of, which is nevertheless a great reference (directed by the great Michael Haneke and starring Tim Roth and Naomi Watts). Finally... it is Micheal Haneke, not Michelle Haneekee.
