While NC State essentially had the weekend off, North Carolina was playing their way out of contention for the ACC Tournament. Both the Tar Heels and Blue Devils have a lot of work to do just to qualify for the Memorial Day week at DBAP.

Without any notable stars, the Wolfpack is beating teams with numbers, both on the mound and at the plate. Carolina and Duke both struggled this weekend, but we draw out the positives heading down the stretch of the conference season.

Triangle teams took seven of nine games over the weekend lead by NC State's sweep of Wake Forest. Meanwhile, Duke continued playing well over Clemson and the Tar Heels got dominating pitching in a series win over Virginia Tech.
