Yea-Ming Chen

Hey guys! I thought instead of clogging your feeds with Kickstarter updates about my movie, it might be nice to introduce you to the talent behind I Will Make You Mine. So I've taken The Actor's Diet Podcast out of retirement for episode 101 with one of its stars, musician Yea-Ming Chen Before filming this summer, Yea-Ming and I actually didn't know each other very well, because our characters never crossed paths in the Surrogate Valentine sequel, Daylight Savings. So the "Yea-Ming Chen" character I wrote for her is a very fictionalized version that she is playing. I loved getting to know her better over the shoot, and now I REALLY got to know her through this podcast interview. In this episode we talk a lot about rice, constipation (sorry), eggs and soy sauce, congee oatmeal, soup, her favorite restaurant in the Bay Area (Vien Huong), flax milk, and the grey areas of body image. I'm not sure when I'll have time to record another episode but there are actually a lot of past podcast guests involved in the movie! Dave Boyle is my producer, actors include Goh Nakamura (who also does the podcast theme music), Christy Meyers, Jeff Meacham, Joy Osmanski, and Hilah Johnson did the behind-the-scenes filming. Love you guys, keep in touch @mslynnchen on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. xo Lynn

Cheryl Strayed

In 2012, my book club actually read books. And one of my favorite books that we read was Cheryl Strayed's Wild (it was also one of my favorite book club meetings because we had a trail mix bar). At the time, I was dealing with the aftermath of my father's death, and I found her book to be incredibly therapeutic. Equally comforting was watching Reese Witherspoon portray her on the big screen in the movie version, seeing her discuss spirituality/life lessons with Oprah, and listening to her give advice on Dear Sugar. Cheryl Strayed has been a huge part of helping me get through some crazy hard times, so I can't think of a better person to interview for episode 100. We discuss everything from eating squirrel to her mother "the hippie Martha Stewart," food she ate on the Pacific Crest Trail, and the search for the perfect pickle. You can listen to the episode on iTunes.  Theme music is by Podcast Guest #85, Goh Nakamura. This will be my last podcast recording for a while. I'm taking a break to focus on acting and plan on directing my first feature later this year. That said, if I find a random opportunity to record another amazing interview like this one, I will grab it. So stay subscribed! Thank you so much for listening over the years. And if you just started, I have 99 other episodes for you to catch up on - some of my favorites include chefs Roy Choi + Ming Tsai, journalist Lisa Ling, blogger Molly Yeh, actress Sandra Oh, and my father-in-law David Greenwald. Show Notes Podcast with Susan Orlean Pickles: McClure's, Boar's Head, Bubbies, MoonBrine, Picklopolis (Portland), and Disneyland pickles Deep fried hot dogs Pineapple, Walnut, Feta Pizza Portland Restaurants: Bamboo Sushi, Yakuza Lounge, Ringside Steakhouse, City State Diner, Cadillac Cafe, Tasty n Sons, Pok Pok, Davenport Cheryl's Official site | Twitter | Facebook | Instagram

Rachelle Wood

My dear friend Rachelle Wood is the face of multiple skin care, cosmetics, clothing brands, and has always been one of the healthiest people I know - mentally and physically. She is not anywhere near what I picture when I think of cancer. But for the past year, I've watched her fight Stage 4 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Now that she's in remission, I had to have back on the podcast to talk about everything she went through. You may remember our interview from 2014, where we talked about her super successful commercial acting and modeling career. Rachelle actually worked more than ever while she undergoing treatment, and I know she's going to inspire anyone out there currently battling The Big C. We talk about what chemo is like, her workout routine, and big life lessons learned. You can listen to the episode and subscribe on iTunes.  Theme music is by Podcast Guest #85, Goh Nakamura. As I mention at the beginning of this show, this is my second-to-last interview for a while before I take a bit of a podcasting break. I can't wait for you to hear episode #100! Nicole Cogan

I have been following the @nobread Instagram account for a while, but it wasn't until recently that I began using the website as a resource for researching gluten-free restaurants. Nicole Cogan is the founder, and my 98th podcast guest! We discuss moving from NYC to LA, her history with gluten intolerance and sensitivity, body image issues, dealing with trolls, traveling and living a life of balance while staying wheat/soy/dairy free. I'm actually going to take a little break from podcasting after the 100th episode (I already have an INCREDIBLE guest lined up). We're getting close! Keep in touch via Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook @mslynnchen. xo Lynn

Rob Dionne

I've known health and fitness expert Rob Dionne (and his wife Devon) for a long time - we met via past podcast guests Jeff Meacham and Christy Meyers back in NYC. I knew him back when he was still acting, so we talk about how he shifted away from that career. We recorded this a while ago before I joined Equinox. Even though I didn't work out when we recorded, I've been obsessed with his podcast, Open Sky Fitness (I've even been a guest) since the beginning.
