The Bible is a complex work, written by an unknown number of authors across hundreds of years, with an oral tradition spanning thousands. The Bible contains a complex series of different books, writing styles, cultures, genres, and worldviews that the 21st century reader is deprived of. Seeking to bridge this gap, this Podcast wishes to interpret the Bible through the lens of literary criticism. From a faith affirming perspective, this podcast wishes to use credible scholarship to teach viewers how to meaningfully interact with the Bible. Each episode will study key Biblical and ancient near eastern context, concepts, and writings in order to equip viewers with a variety of interpretive tools. The goal is not wish to teach the Bible through a specific denominational background. Instead, our mission is to teach viewers how to ask good questions during Bible study, understood key context and concepts of the Biblical writers, and how to combat hermeneutical errors and logical fallacies which frequently pervades exegesis.
