In today’s show we discuss how to get more stuff done on a daily basis. If you work from home or are building an online business, you probably have struggled with focusing on certain projects on time or another. I do as well and that’s why I decided to record this episode. BMF 028: How To Create A Product From Scratch That People Want To Buy

In today’s show we discuss how to create a new product from scratch that your audience wants to buy. Who wants to create a product that people don’t want to buy? It takes time and a lot of hard work to create a product and this is the best way to have the best chance for success. -The Big Takeaway (Get fueled up) The idea is simple really. You found out what your market wants and then sell them that product, It usually will be a solution to their problem. In the podcast I share how I recently surveyed my photography audience and asked a few questions of what they are struggling with. I gave them some multiple choice questions and then allowed them to leave any questions they wanted. I received over 240 responses and it gave me a huge insight on what they needed and wanted. I was looking for a problem they had that I could solve. Ironically, it was “How To Find More Clients and Get More Sales” which is something I can help them with. I also found out that they are mostly building Facebook fan pages to find their clients, but not collecting emails. So, I know if I could help them build a list of potential and past clients, I could help them sell more of their photography services. MY course that is in creation as I type, will help them find and convert more sales in their business by using email marketing. -Session Quick Tips How To Look For Clues To Find and Solve a problem your market has. Use surveys ( I used Fluidsurveys.com) I emailed my current list (asked questions) Posted questions on Facebook fan page Responded to emails people submitted (dug deeper) Created an email optin for interest in new product Sent email with topic in subject line (used Aweber open and clicks to see if message received interest) Note: I sent an email to 8,ooo subscribers and I received a 19.6% open rate (which is about 1,600 subscribers) Typically I receive between 20 and 30% open rate on most emails, so I felt this was pretty good. Think about that for a minute. I have 1,600 people that are interested in this topic. You may be wondering what I used for  headline to test the topic. Remember, the only purpose of this email was to see how the topic resonated  with the people on my list. Subject Line: 3 BIG Marketing Mistakes Photographers Are Making (#3 is the worst) I used marketing mistakes to see who was interested in marketing and problems. The other thing I can do now is use these opens as a segmented list and only send these people more about my new product and lessons on marketing. Pretty cool! -Show Quote I didn’t have one. What we mean by scarcity is when you are running a promotion and you have people that are on the fence letting them know there is a deadline and if they do not act soon the will have to pay full price and will miss out on your fantastic offer. -The Big Takeaway (Get Fueled Up) Building scarcity into your promotions can be a very powerful way to sell and promote your product. Today Scott gives us 5 tips that we can use in our businesses today to help create scarcity. The first tip is to offer a limited number of products. Let’s say you are running a promotion you may only offer 50 at the sale price after those 50 are gone it goes back to the regular price. Discounting the price of is also an obvious great promotion you can run to sell and promote your product. Your scarcity will come in when you have a deadline date or a certain number products you are going to sell before the sale is over. When you do this correctly and follow all the steps you can introduce your business to new people who may not have tried your products or service before. When you have a base price and offer discounts on occasion (a promotion) you will not cheapen yourself. -The Big Takeaway (Get Fueled Up) The best way to not cheapen yourself is to establish your base price. Be smart about this, if you are working in the upper end make your prices just below the high end of the market. This will let people know that you are not just a cheap discount place. Do not become predictable and run the same special at the same months or time of year. Switch things up, it is great to give discounts to your new and regular customers but you want them to pay full price sometimes as well. -Show Discussion In today’s show we talk about how you can come up with a best name for your authority site. Scott lay’s out six quick tips you can follow to help you come up with the best name for your site. The key word research will help you with some of the wording you may use for your website name. Make the title relevant to the subjects which you are creating content about. -Show Discussion In today’s show Scott shares an experience he recently had with a direct marketing piece of content. He actually received a letter from the car dealer where he bought his vehicle. It said he could bring in his old lease vehicle and trade it for a brand new one. That was great but the dealer did not follow through with their offer. Today we talk about how important it is to have a great offer and deliver on that offer when someone is interested. -The Big Takeaway (Get Fueled Up) A lot of times direct response marketing is direct response mail or ad campaign online or offline. The first goal of a direct response marketing campaign is to have a compelling offer to really get your audience’s attention. Now that you have their attention you want them to open the letter or the email. Once they have opened your letter or email you must give a clear call to action. If you only have a print add like a door hanger the same is true get the attention with your offer and give that clear call to action. Once they act you must follow up. If you ask them to call you and they do call, give them what you offered them. If you want them to respond to an email and they do, deliver what you offered. Past customer and people on your mailing list are there because they are interested in what you have to offer. It’s obvious because they purchased from you or gave their email and showed interest. It is very important to choose the correct path, you do not want to spend a lot of time creating content for something that has no market or product. Spend the time now and do the research you will be glad you did in the long run. -The Big Takeaway (Get Fueled Up) So far we have brainstormed our ideas and we have dug deeper into Amazon, EBay and Kindle books to confirm a market. Before we make the final decision we will drill down in one more place and that is Google planner under keyword search. This is a place where you will see how many people are searching particular keywords. As we got into the keyword planner we found keywords that had good search results and we’re related to survival in camping. You will want to look for keywords that are related to your search. We also used a tool called Long Tail Pro this is a product that Scott purchased. Long Tail Pro is another way to search keywords. It also gives you the ability to research other sites that are in that same market to check the metrics of your competition. In addition these keyword searches also supply you with more possible keywords for the future. In today’s show we discuss the benefits of having a kindle book for sale on amazon. Scott shares some tricks with us on how to get noticed and how to capture leads from your book sales. -The Big Takeaway (Get Fueled Up) Selling kindle books on amazon can be helpful in many ways. Let’s start with the fact that Amazon is another search engine unto itself. Thousands of searches every day, just another chance for you to get noticed. This is another place that you can use to give away free content. You can capture email addresses and build your automated sales machine. Write books to get noticed, be a part of many platforms this will give you the best opportunity to be noticed. You will also use the fact that you are an author to help build your credibility. You have the ability to give an offer to your new customer right inside the book. This is simple just put your offer in the book and send the link to your landing page. An example of the offer Scott put in one of his books a free video tutorial about how to work on digital props. Scott also included a digital prop download that supports the video. A cool trick Scott shared with us your should put your offer in the front of the book. The reason for this is Amazon shows the first 10% off the books. Now your free offer will be seen by everyone who views the front of your book. Don’t Forget the up sell. Now that you have delivered 90% content 10% can be a lite pitch. More of what you have already given. Scott offers a hand full of addition props for a 19.95. Of course when he has people who are interested in the 19.95 props than they may also be interested in other products he has to offer. Promote the book, show full sections of your book for free, make a video explaining a section of the book (example Scott made a video that showed people how to find clients through Facebook) At bottom of emails add books you have written that are relevant. Remind people on blog post that are related. BMF 012 : How To Create Your High Value FREE Offer That Builds A Loyal Email List

-Show Discussion In this session we discuss what to use as our free offer or giveaway. We talk about the different materials of information or a physical product you can use as your offer. We provide some tips on how to figure out what your offer will be. Without a compelling offer, something that really gets your audience going, it will be a difficult time trying to collect email address. -The Big Takeaway (Get Fueled Up) First off you have to give extreme value. Make your offer so good it is hard to believe you would give that away. You must make the reward for giving their email well worth it. When you are first starting out you might ask what I should offer.  A great place to start is Facebook groups. This forum will allow you to see what people are talking about, the things and information they are interested in. You will also learn their pain points, all of this is great information. When you have an audience ask them what they would like to see what they want. Create your own Facebook fan page, this will help you engage on another level with your audience. You can also send out surveys through email, again gathering more information on what is truly important to them. Give bite size pieces, focus on parts of the problem. This will make each lesson more comprehendible and easier to understand. For example the educational part of this blog will be set up just like that. Small pieces of the puzzle all leading up to the big picture. That will be much more effective than having everything in one lesson and make it overwhelming. It is very important to give results. Next we get into what should our offer be? One good idea is a free report outline in detail step by step, how to fix something or how to get a desired result. The free report can do anything from answer questions from Facebook discussions to teaching someone how to make or fix a product. Create a downloadable PDF so your customer actually get a down load of your information or product to their computer or devise. Creating videos can be another very powerful option.  Follow the same rules from the free report solve their problem or give value in something that they really want. Do both people like to consume information in different ways? Get yourself spread across different mediums. If the video you created doesn’t need to be visual you can extract the audio and send it out as an mp3. Know your audience can consume your information via audio much like this podcast. This gives you three things you can offer to your audience. Some other things we talked about if you have an EBook that people are purchasing make sure you have an offer in the resource section. This will allow you to put an offer in front of someone who has already bought from you and shows an interest in what you have to offer.  Once you get going you can take different pieces of content and bundle them together to create a large giveaway. Make sure each piece of content is relevant and in order. Put links in your PDF so people can easily link back to your blog or YouTube channel. Brand videos with your URL, if someone shares your content they will be able to find you with your brand on the video. BMF 011 : Building Your Customer Email List Using Physical Products – Real Examples

-Show Discussion In this episode of business marketing fuel Scott shares a real example of how he is selling a physical product, sending it through the mail. Included in the package is an offer for a free item. Because of this free offer he is able to direct them to his landing page and capture their email address. Now he is able to communicate with his customers in the future through Aweber. Scott shares the product he is selling the platforms he is selling and a unique way of collecting email addresses from people who have purchased on these platforms. -The Big Takeaway (Get Fueled Up) The example Scott is using is CD’s with digital back grounds and props for his photography business. He is sell these products on EBay and Etsy. It is great for him to make sales on these 2 sales platforms but he is unable to capture  his customers email through these companies. This makes it very difficult to communicate with your client at will. Someone who has bought from you in the past is your best future customer. You know they like what you have to offer. There is a good chance they may purchase from you again. It is very important to keep this relationship you have started. Again you do not have their email address at this point because all of the information is in EBay. When someone purchases from you on a site like EBay you have to send that physical product to the address they gave you. At this time Scott takes this opportunity to extend a free offer to those new customers. Scott prints up a nice 3×4 post card with his offer and giveaway. He includes and web address where his new customer can submit their email on his landing page. Scott can now send his fee offer and he has the email address in his Aweber auto responder. As we have talk about extensively in the past, you know have the ability to follow up when you want. You are in control of your list not EBay or anyone else. Getting new customers is very important but engaging and communicating with the list you already have is so powerful. Scott also has a Digital creations club where members pay a monthly fee for giveaways, discounts and to communicate with the rest of the community. The problem was again the service he is using to collect all of the contacts information has control of that email list. Scott then created an offer for those members and directed them to a new landing page. Now that you have everyone in Aweber you can separate your email list into different segments. Prospects would be on a different list from someone that has bought from you. Aweber allows you to make separate list and when someone buys you can set it up so they automatically change list. Always build your list any time you get someone who is interested in what you have to offer get their email. As Scott showed in the example above the physical address is great to have as well. First it allowed you to get your next offer to them. Second it allowed you to get their email address. BMF 010 : Get Paid While Building Your List Using Facebook Paid Traffic – Case Study

-Show Discussion Today Scott shares a case study he has been working on. He has recently been using Facebook pay per click to advertise a how to video (Photoshop Tutorial) and a digital background give away, to build his email list. He was able to make sales in the process. We talk about the different platforms he is using and how to put them in place properly to be effective with this strategy. We also go over the numbers on the conversion rate and cost per click. -The Big Takeaway (Get Fueled Up) Facebook is back in our headlines again. As Scott shares more and more of his experience we are seeing Facebook pop up in our conversation. This time he paid some money for traffic, in return he received sales which paid him back his original investment, plus a little extra. Just as important and probably more important he is building a list of quality followers. We have talked about it in the past, building a quality list is so important. We take it a step further this time with a (double opt in). Once someone sends their email you could send them to the offer. If you do this you may not be able to get your emails through to them in the future. Because of spam it is more and more difficult for emails to get through. The double opt in ensures your follow up emails will be delivered because you will send them to your confirmation page. Here you explain they have an email that needs their attention. We take this a step further by introducing Lead Pages (landing page). Lead Pages is a service that host your landing page. You are able to run split test, compare two pages to find which one has the best conversion rate.  Don’t forget your email auto responder like Aweber.
