Podcast Head Honcho Andrew Terrance Kaberline reveals everything you need to know about CPT Broadcast’s third year producing audio stories. https://theatrecpt.files.wordpress.com/2017/02/3podaddress.mp3 Two years ago, on valentine’s day 2015, I was sitting in a rehearsal space in downtown Manhattan with the rest of the Critical Point ensemble, trying to figure out why our podcasts wouldn’t upload. There is a great photo of this moment that is included in our press photos, of everyone else handling this situation well, and me picking at the sides of my mouth (certainly a gross tick of mine) praying that this hiccup wouldn’t kill the idea of making audio as a group before it even got off the ground. Fast forward to now, 2017, and CPT Broadcasting is prepared to announce our intentions with our third year production cycle for our audio wing. Above I have included an audio file that contains my podcast address as well as interviews with the show runners explaining the directions of their shows this year. But for those who can’t listen to it at the moment or maybe are reading this at work, I’ll hit you up with some highlights: RETURNING SHOWS: The Grayscale Last season ended with more information revealed about the Moral Influx Co. and unknown whereabouts of our humble narrator, The Voice Inside Your Head. This season promises to give the people everything they’ve ever wanted, and maybe, just maybe, we will finally learn more about what the Grayscale itself actually is. It will consist of 10 original episodes, dropping on the first of the month The Grayscale will return on the tentative date of April 1st. The Creedence Clearwater Revival Hour The Pastor was revealed to be an imposter in last season’s finale, and now he’s on the run. Don’t worry, this will all get straightened out by Detective Jim Silvers, and I’m sure the Pastor will be back to interviewing the people of Beavertail Nebraska this season resulting in hijinks, calamity, and all around merriment. CCRH will return on March 6th with its first full episode CCRH will consist of 15 full length improvised episodes, as well as a handful of minisodes There will be a short mini-series to bridge the two seasons, released shortly Sunday Night Supper Andrew returns with a revamped, brand new, glossy sounding season of storytelling and radio journalism. This year we will weave together high concept episodes with stories told in our original format. There will always be an appetizer at the top of show that paints more of a narrative scene, followed by true stories told around the dinner table. SNS will return tentatively in May There will be 15 episodes consisting of true stories and audio narrative features WHAT ELSE DO YOU GOT? We hope to bring you some more content this year independent of our three running shows (we have decided to fold Julia’s efforts on SJW into Sunday Night Supper, so that show will no longer be in full tie production). Our goal is to release an original limited podcast drama series that will tie in with our production of Phfreaking. Also Will Jennings will be spearheading an ambitious project that aims to work like Masterpiece Theatre, in producing standalone audio dramas created by the ensemble AND by other writers and art makers that we recognize as being great. Hey Everyone, I realize I’ve neglected to actually tell you what’s going on in these episodes and accidentally been posting my emails instead. That ends now. We were fighting a lot, we stopped sleeping in the same room and eventually he just started seeing other people. I knew and I didn’t stop him because I wanted him to fall in love with someone else, I wanted him to find happiness elsewhere because I knew we couldn’t find it together. Whenever we were in the same room I just felt, distracted, like my mind….my heart was elsewhere. I know where it was now, Don. I’m ready to admit what I wasn’t ready to say all those months ago. I think…I think I have feelings for you too. You are the only person who ever really “got” me, you know? And that book you wrote? That was hilarious, Don. It was exactly my sense of humor, the exact thing Todd never understood about me. He wrote 50 best selling detective novels to try and connect with me and your hastily-written, spelling-error-filled manuscript understood me better than he ever could. This is going to sound bad but…when Todd passed, I felt…relief. Like I could finally start all over…all over with you. I knew you had nothing to do with it, I know your soul, Don. Its gentle and passionate. I’ve always loved that about you. I know this is completely crazy but seeing all the things you’ve done this year and watching your friend Pastor Clearwater defend you so passionately in that courtroom it just…it just really woke something up in me and I’m ready to explore that if you are. What do you say, little brother? Do you want to meet for coffee and see if we can figure this thing out, together? The trial of the century, The People vs. Donald Falcom, has come to a close. As per Beavertail tradition, the all-female jury returned from their delibirations at the Beavertail Holiday Inn’s special Jury Delibiration chamber and spa, to announce their verdict. https://theatrecpt.files.wordpress.com/2016/12/ccrh-scary-stories_edit2.mp3 After weeks of debate and arguments from the Defense, Beavertail’s own Pastor Creedence Clearwater and Crumdon’s Lawyer of the Year, Michael Davenport, the Jury has found Donald “not guilty” on the charges of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, waffle-theft, and bad-murder thoughts. The much talked about trial reached a turning-point last week when Pastor Clearwater’s “Court Filibuster technique” of reading the entirety of Hiromu Arakawa’s landmark manga series “Full Metal Alchemist”, (complete with descriptions of each image and commentary) was interrupted by a shocking revelation from the morgue. The cause of death, initially thought to be a stabbing with thousands of tiny knives, was revealed to be snake venom. Shortly there-after the security tapes of the Denny’s parking lot revealed that Donald had a brief conversation with the victim, Todd Sinnoh, where-in he apologized profusely for “trying to get in the way of his true love’s happiness” and Mr. Sinnoh replied with “I hope you get bit by thousands of venomous snakes you horrible man”. Donald then fled the scene in tears before a cruel irony befell Mr Sinnoh and he was swarmed by thousands of venomous snakes that had flooded the streets of Beavertail. While managing to fight off some of them, Mr. Sinnoh stumbled off into the woods where he succumbed to his wounds. The tapes were truly damning for the prosecution who responded with “well, this sucks. Oh well, I give up.” and proceeded to leave the courtroom. Mr. Davenport could not be reached for comment. When asked why he did not think to review the security tape sooner, Detective Jim Silvers, head of the investigation replied with “It didn’t seem too important at the time.” Donald Falcon, now a free-man, has returned to his job assisting Pastor Clearwater with his podcast “The Creedence Clearwater Revival Hour”. The town of Beavertail has been rocked a PTA election that left 26 people dead, a snake infestation and an animal uprising but now its about about to face the biggest thing It’s seen all year: A trial. https://theatrecpt.files.wordpress.com/2016/11/ccrh_10_edit2.mp3 Donald Falcon, local podcast engineer is facing murder charges after the body of his brother-in-law, one Todd Sinnoh was found last month. After a lengthy investigation by BTPD, Donald was found at his place of residence. Apparently the police had neglected to check there, assuming he had made some kind of break for it. After Dustin Sanford tragically lost his life in the Overstreet Riots, our town has been lawyer-less, although up to this point all matters of dispute have been settled by trials by combat so it hasn’t really been an issue. All that is about to change since Donald has outright refused to fight reigning champion Sharon Overstreet, opting instead for a old fashion or “talk-’em-out” trial. Donald will be represented by his friend, local pastor Creedence Clearwater, whereas the people are bringing in Crumdon’s biggest hotshot lawyer, Michael Davenport. At this time Donald has been released on bail and the trial is expected to begin as soon as he passes his Voight-Kampff Test, proving his isn’t an android replica of the actual defendant, as per Beavertail Law. ATTENTION BEAVERTAIL! This is an urgent news bulletin. The body of local resident and best selling author, Todd Sinnoh was discovered this morning in the Murasaki Woods two miles south of the Main Street Denny’s. https://theatrecpt.files.wordpress.com/2016/09/ccrh-ep9-edit3-1.mp3 The body was discovered last night at 2am by local high school students Bobby Burt and Ashley Apples who were having a late night bible study in the woods. The two innocent teens stumbled onto the body which they described as “totally gross” and “not cool” before adding “ew.” According to the Beavertail PD, the time of death seemed to be sometime between two days ago and possibly two years ago. They did inform us that the former is much more likely but that its too early in the case to rule out anything. Mr Sinnoh was wearing the same disheveled suit he was last seen wearing and police say it appeared as though he had had an intense argument with someone very recently. He had on his person, $12,000 in unmarked bills, a copy of a bizarrely erotic manuscript written by his brother-in-law and a waffle from the Denny’s shoved into his pocket (although those close to the victim have informed us that this was not out of character for him). The police have determined the cause of death to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 stab-wounds to his lower torso, arms, legs and chest or the poison that seemed to be in his system based on the purple-ish hue of his face… The prevailing theory at the BTPD is that this was a suicide in which he stabbed himself 20 times with various tiny knives before succumbing to his wounds and possibly a poisoned waffle, however they aren’t ruling out some form of foul play. If you have any information on anyone who may have had a quarrel with Mr. Sinnoh, access for 20 small knives or means with which to poison a waffle, please contact the BTPD as soon as possible!
