Its getting so hard to be seen on social media these days-- without paying to promote your posts. Having your own website and email list is a great way to side-step the pitfalls of social media. Mind you, interacting with fans on Facebook, Twitter, etc. is very valuable, but nothing beats having individual email addresses of your fans so you can reach them directly; one-to-one.
