82-Are You Willing To Change To Improve

Are You Willing To Change?  Just the simple fact of you being here means that most likely you’re at least somewhat open to change. If not and you want nothing to do with change or improvement, then you’re probably in the wrong place. Feel free to stick around and see for certain, though. Just to make my opinion absolutely clear, I don’t think there is anything wrong with change. There is no improvement without change. Want life to be a little bit better? Great!! You’ll need to change a bit. Change can be as simple as making an adjustment to get better results, feel a little better, become more effective or efficient. In the podcast I talk about change being similar to making tweaks to an engine so that it can be finely tuned.    Start With Being Open   “Day by day I get better in every way”CLICK TO TWEET   Who get those benefits?   Compare For Change The only person to compare yourself to is who you were yesterday.CLICK TO TWEET   Full show notes at: https://nickmaizy.com/82-change-to-improve/

77-If You Want, You Can Win

What Happens When You REALLY Want It If you decide that you really want it, then it’s time for a few things to happen. If you want it, then make it happen. My material is all about pursuing and conquering your goals. Of course, I believe that you are capable of achieving great things. It just takes doing the work. That is why I say “REALLY want it” because if it is not a true burning desire, then you may not want to do the work. Just be honest with yourself. There are a few things that happen when you really want something..... view full post at: https://nickmaizy.com/if-you-want-you-can-win/   __________________________ Listen on YouTube:NickMaizy.com/YTL Learn from great books at: NickMaizy.com/booksMore material and resources at: NickMaizy.com

76-Focus On What You Can Control

Which Of These Will You Focus On   We can take everything in life, everything you know and experience and put them into two categories. There are things you can control and things you can’t.   What you can control: Your attitude Your actions Your goals Your words Where you place your focus Ultimately –  your mindset   What you can’t control Your genes, parents, family origin Everything that has already happened: The Past OTHER PEOPLE Pretty much everything else out there   There is a whole lot that you can’t ‘control’ many things in life you don’t have the power to change directly. But, that certainly doesn’t mean to give up. When you do your best with what you can control, you can impact the rest for the better.   Do Not Let What You Cannot Do Interfere With What You Can Do – John Wooden   Full Show Notes at: https://nickmaizy.com/focus-on-what-you-can-control/    _____________________________ You may also like this post: Choose Your Mindset: See Opportunities nickmaizy.com/choose-your-mindset-see-opportunities/

75-The Dangerous Truth About Excuses & Your Goals

How Dangerous Can One Little Excuse Really Be?   Wouldn’t it be great if we could just decide that we will achieve our goals and then poof they’re achieved? Ya, that would make things a lot easier. But, you know that is not the case. In real life it is harder and takes more work than that. Have you ever told yourself a reason why you couldn’t or wouldn’t be able to hit a goal? Even a small goal? If so, then that was an excuse.   What is an excuse? When you Google excuse, a few difference definitions come up. Here are two: as a noun – a reason or explanation to defend or justify a fault or offence as a verb – release someone from a duty or requirement   They don’t just explain. On the surface excuses may seem just like a simple explanation for why things turned out the way they did. But, don’t be misled. They can be far more cunning and destructive than a simple explanation.   Excuses Justify The Outcome They offer a justification for the outcome. When the outcome of any situation is not what you want, you can justify it with a well crafted excuse. That way you’re off the hook for how it all turned out.   Others Believe Them Other people may even believe your great excuse. That must mean that it’s doing its job then.   You Believe them The even better (and more dangerous) ones are not only believed by other people. You may even believe it. That’s when you know it really sounds like a good one. And at the same time a terrible one. When you believe your own excuses, you may begin to think that there was nothing that you could have done and that your actions didn’t matter. That is a dangerous place to be because your action do matter. Your actions are what will accomplish your goals. Never let a little excuse have you to thinking that your actions don’t count.   You may feel better An excuse can help you to feel better when things don’t turn out how you’d like. Didn’t lose the weight you wanted? It’s okay. Here’s a nice excuse to help you feel better. Didn’t stick to your budget and save the money you wanted? Don’t worry. There’s an excuse for that too. Didn’t get organized and really pursue your goals this year? Oh, there are plenty of excuses for that.   They Release Your Duty According to the definition above, excuses release someone from a duty. If you commit to doing something, then it’s your duty to stick to it. Simple, huh? When I commit to a goal, it’s my duty to myself (and maybe others) to stick to my commitment and do what I say I would do, right? Of course, it is my duty that I’ve created. If I say that I’m going to do it, then I need to do it. Otherwise, my word doesn’t mean much. If we commit with our words and back up our words with action and follow through with persistence, then we are capable of great things. And there won’t be much need or room for excuses.   They Take Away Your Power Do you want to give all your power away? It would be like diligently saving money for many years. Then, after accumulating the exact amount you wanted you walk up to a complete stranger and say please take care of my life’s savings. There’s no way you’d do that, right? That would clearly be giving away power over something valuable to someone else. Using an excuse gives the power and control you have over your life to something outside of yourself. Whatever outside circumstance or situation is the excuse is where the power goes. There wasn’t enough time – Time gets your power. Nobody would help me. – Everyone else gets your power. I wasn’t born with that talent. – Your past gets your power. I’m too busy. – Your other choices have your power. Each excuse gives power away. When you accept responsibility for your life, actions, and outcomes YOU have the power to choose! You can make changes and improvements! You can set goals, take action, and enjoy life.   _________________________________ You may also like these posts: 73-How To Fail & Achieve Your Goals nickmaizy.com/fail-achieve-your-goals/ Choose Your Mindset To Achieve Goals & Enjoy Life nickmaizy.com/mindset-achieve-goals-enjoy-life/
