Curtain Jerkers, Episode 30: Stone Cold is Stunning in THE CONDEMNED
Episode in
The Farsighted
Before we dive into the episode, have you seen our badass logo? Awesome designer Trais Colton Barhaug rocked that for us and you should go support him now! T-shirts, pins, and stickers are on their way.
Thanks to Justin’s long time friend, Kwalified, a diehard wrestling fan and dope emcee hailing from Hawaii, for our great intro song.
We finally got to Stone Cold on this podcast… but we actually did so back in August. Life got the better of Justin and podcasts a’plenty didn’t get finished of posted(stay tuned for another drop tomorrow on The Farchive feed). So, while The Condemned is not a horror film, it’s scary how long it took Justin to finally post this shit!
Don’t worry, though, we have stuff in the works for the next few months and some changes in the format so that when Justin inevitably runs behind the convo isn’t about non-current “current events”.
For now, enjot some awesome matches and a fun film starring Steve Austin.

Curtain Jerkers, Episode 29: It’s Time! It’s VADER TIME!

Leon White – aka Vader – was one of the greatest big men in pro wrestling history. Sadly, his acting career wasn’t quite as successful. But watching the nonsensical 1995 live action adaptation of one of Japan’s longest running and most popular manga series gave us the opportunity to indulge in some truly stellar wrestling.
Enjoy our discussion of Fist of the North Star and 3 great matches from Big Van Vader in three different promotions with three distinctly different styles.

CAGEMATCH, (Unlucky) Episode 13: DEADFALL is Fun Time Family Fun… Apparently
Episode in
The Farsighted
As always, this is the podcast that asks the hard-hitting questions like, “What the fuck is wrong with Justin’s mic” or “Why the hell is this even a movie” or “Why does Merder hate us and herself”… and the most important questions of all…
Is Nicolas Cage a legitimate acting genius?
An utter piece of silver screen trash?
Or somewhere in between?
After having a few real bangers, Merder was tired of letting the others pick the movies because she was getting dangerously close to actually liking Nic. Enter 1993’s Deadfall, a true shit show. Resting alongside Trapped in Paradise, this one was absolute dreck. The crew genuinely hopes they are more entertaining than this film.
For a good synopsis of the film, you can just listen to Snot’s “Deadfall”, which is played at the end of the episode. It’s way better than the movie, for sure.
SPECIAL THANKS to The O’Mulligans for allowing us to use their fantastic track “Cage Rage” as our official theme song! Listen to “Cage Rage” on Bandcamp and support the band!

Curtain Jerkers, Episode 27: The Whole F’n Show with the Great CHARLIE TIGER
Episode in
The Farsighted
Before we dive into the episode, have you seen our badass logo? Awesome designer Trais Colton Barhaug rocked that for us and you should go support him now! T-shirts, pins, and stickers are on their way.
Thanks to Justin’s long time friend, Kwalified, a diehard wrestling fan and dope emcee hailing from Hawaii, for our great intro song.
Before we kick off this episode, we’d like to congratulate @malikibeats on Twitter/X for winning our swag giveaway! Thanks for the support.
Speaking of thanks, we’ve got to thank this episode’s guest, indie wrestling star and long time member of Young Dumb & Broke, the one and only Charlie Tiger, who you can follow on Twitter at twitter.com/charlietiger_ and Instagram at instagram.com/thecharlietiger_/.
Charlie wanted to talk one of his all-time faves, “The Whole F’in Show” Rob Van Dam. He and Doug picked some iconic matches for us all to discuss and Doug introduces us all to 1997’s Bloodmoon, in which RVD “stars” as one of the main villains victims. Charlie shares some fun insight, Doug plays historian, and Justin… well… he’s there, too.
Enjoy the show and remember to follow Charlie so you can check out his various escapades and matches all over North America and beyond!

Curtain Jerkers, Episode 26: Mania Invades Philly and the Jerks Talk Batista
Episode in
The Farsighted
Before we dive into the episode, have you seen our badass logo? Awesome designer Trais Colton Barhaug rocked that for us and you should go support him now! T-shirts, pins, and stickers are on their way.
Thanks to Justin’s long time friend, Kwalified, a diehard wrestling fan and dope emcee hailing from Hawaii, for our great intro song.
It’s time to dive into Dave Bautista aka WWE’s Batista (guess the “u” was too confusing for Vince). The Jerks talk two of his top rated matches and his silver screen star turn in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy. But before we jump in, Justin talks Mania coming to his city and the events he’ll be attending. Doug also highlights some of the shows he’s most excited to catch online this weekend.

CAGEMATCH, Episode 12: Brookie is Pretty KICK-ASS
Episode in
The Farsighted
Episode 2 with a full team. Broken ankles, technical difficulties, and Justin being lazy (not really but he’s easy to blame) pushed back the release a couple weeks, but ALAS… we’re still on pace for a monthly episode, though we’re pushing to the third week of the month moving forward instead of the first… whoops… but we’re here, we promise! But it’s time for the important questions…
Is Nicolas Cage a legitimate acting genius?
An utter piece of silver screen trash?
Or somewhere in between?
On this month’s episode, Justin’s wife, and the illicit love of both Loki and Merder, joins to discuss her favorite Cage jawn, Kick-Ass! Spoiler alert, Merder HATES… how much she loves Nic in this one! If you’re watchign along, next month we’re watching 1993’s Deadfall, one of the the couple 0% Rotten Tomatoes films that Nic happens to star in, so maybe Merder will get to truly hate on him again next month, we shall see!
And the contest we promised last month officially drops right here in the show notes (instead of on Instagram)…
It’s easy as 1-2-3…

Curtain Jerkers, Episode 25: Abdullah is Spartacus, But Not THAT Spartacus
Episode in
The Farsighted
Before we dive into the episode, have you seen our badass logo? Awesome designer Trais Colton Barhaug rocked that for us and you should go support him now! T-shirts, pins, and stickers are on their way.
Thanks to Justin’s long time friend, Kwalified, a diehard wrestling fan and dope emcee hailing from Hawaii, for our great intro song.
Originally record for November, then eventually slated for February release, and now it finally drops in late March. But it’s worth it… we think.
Listen to Doug and Justin chat about Abdullah the Butcher in the ring and on the silver screen… with 1981’s Roaring Fire. Alongside Sonny Chiba as “Mr. Magic”, Abdullah plays bigass bodyguard Spartacus in this bizarre and fun little action joint.

The Farchive Episode 11: NJ’s Mark Wise Blends Techno and Metal with Style
Episode in
The Farsighted
Mark Wise is a DJ who blends a variety of sounds to create something unique. He hit our radar a year or so ago and has become a part of heavy rotation… and heavy is the right word. With the track that opens this podcast, “The Fire Within”, Mark demonstrates how one can seemlessly blend metal with 90s era techno and modern EDM to create a sound that fans of dance music, industrial, and hard rock alike will find appealing.
Check out his YouTube show “Technobabble” below and enjoy our chat. And enjoy a second track called “Faerie” at the end of the podcast!
Check out more from Mark on Spotify or your platform of choice.

CAGEMATCH, Episode 11: We Kick Off a New Era with WILLY’S WONDERLAND
Episode in
The Farsighted
We’re officially a trio and we even have a schedule and a format now. With episodes set to drop the first week of each month, actual outlines for what we are discussing, and all that jazz, we’re kinda like a REAL PODCAST now! But it’s time for the important questions…
Is Nicolas Cage a legitimate acting genius?
An utter piece of silver screen trash?
Or somewhere in between?
On this month’s episode, we find out if Merder may actually enjoy Nic if he keeps his mouth shut, if Loki can put up with Merder and Justin long enough to make this trio thing work, and if y’all want a free copy of this awesome movie on Special Edition 4K and Blu-ray!
Enjoy the episode and stay tuned to the CAGEMATCH Instagram later this week for details on scoring a copy of this gem from SCREAM FACTORY!
And check out Rockstar Roller Derby, where Merder and Loki skate (and Justin rambles on Twitch)! Join the Fresh Meat program, come out to an event, or watch events on our Twitch stream!

Curtain Jerkers, Episode 22: IRON CLAW, The Von Erich Story, and WCCW
Episode in
The Farsighted
Before we dive into the episode, have you seen our badass logo? Awesome designer Trais Colton Barhaug rocked that for us and you should go support him now! T-shirts, pins, and stickers are on their way.
Thanks to Justin’s long time friend, Kwalified, a diehard wrestling fan and dope emcee hailing from Hawaii, for our great intro song.
The lost November episode is goin to finally make its tardy appearance in February, but we needed to make a point to check out Iron Claw this month and dive into the tragic Von Erich story. So we veer from focus on a wrestler turned actor this month and focus on film and the real life subjects of the film (though our original plan was this film and an episode about MJF, but his part was too minimal and the Von Erichs deserve the coverage).
So we look at a few of the great WCCW Von Erichs matches alongside discussion of the fantastic A24 film.

CAGEMATCH, Episode 10: Is ARMY OF ONE Our Favorite Cage Film Yet?
Episode in
The Farsighted
2023 is over and the last episode recorded in 2023 also marks the end of our first phase. As we move into 2024, we enter CAGEMATCH v.2.0, CAGEMATCH Phase 2, or whatever the hell you wanna call it. We’ll formally introduce her in our new episode later this month, but let us take this time to welcome this episode’s guest, Tamrin Jenison (aka Splinch aka Loki aka Splotch aka Sploki aka…), as a permanent feature moving forward. We didn’t know it until the very day we recorded, but it became very evident that we were strongest as a trio… so lisen to the rambling intro Justin recorded for some notes and enjoy the show…
Is Nicolas Cage a legitimate acting genius?
An utter piece of silver screen trash?
Or somewhere in between?
On this episode, we wrap up the year of 2023 with the 2016 biopic of sorts, Army of One! Stay through the end top here a fun rendition of “Auld Lang Syne” by Hungarian punks, Paddy and the Rats!
We get off track, add a new podcast cohost, and experience recording issues… but we had too much fun and we hope you share in some of that fun too!
SPECIAL THANKS to The O’Mulligans for allowing us to use their fantastic track “Cage Rage” as our new official theme song! Listen to “Cage Rage” on Bandcamp and support the band!

VIDA Y PENSAMIENTO
