Ed had a conversation with Marcus "Strider" Dent who is the leader of the Guardian Angels Chapter in Baltimore to get his perspective on what is going on in the streets of a troubled American city.   He provides a very unique perspective because although he works closely with the police he is not a police officer .  And he gives an unfiltered take of an African American man who is neither a member of a police agency nor BLM.

I interviewed a member of the bail bond industry after I became aware of a idea being crafted without input from the people it will impact the most.  Maryland politicians are trying to eliminate the concept of bail for criminal defendants which will both endanger the public while placing a tremendous burden on the police and the taxpayer.  This is being discussed in private and may become a reality within weeks.  Worst of all it is being done secretly and at a breakneck pace which just doesn't pass the smell test.

I recently attended  a screening of a film entitled Escalation.  It was inspired by the murder of Yeardley Love at the hands of an ex-boyfriend.   Ms. Love was a student and lacrosse player at the University of Virginia and was killed in 2010.   Escalation while not directly about that case illustrated how quickly relationships can go from loving to controlling to deadly.  I was so disturbed by the film and realized the problem was much bigger than I realized when photos of many other murder victims crossed the screen at the film's conclusion.   I then decided to help raise awareness and asked the woman who ran the workshop after the film if she would do a podcast with me regarding this tragic issue.   She is Jordyn Cohen of the One Love Foundation and I thank her for sharing her knowledge with me.
