Shame-Free Financial Therapy w/ Lindsay Bryan-Podvin

Lindsay Bryan-Podvin is a biracial financial therapist, speaker, and Plutus-nominated author. In her therapy practice, she uses shame-free financial therapy to help people get their minds and money in balance. Additionally, she's expanded her services to help therapists with their money mindset, niching, and authentic marketing.  I learned so much from this episode, including the two lesser known responses to trauma and how that can show up in our relationship to money, how to spot the difference between bro-ey vs conscious and intentional marketing when you’re shopping around for healers, therapists and coaches, and how to take it one step at a time if you’re feeling overwhelmed by where you are in your money management and healing journey. Peace Corps Tell All w/ Reiko Jones, Jennifer Ewart & Stephen Chaisson

Today’s show is extremely special to me because my guests in this episode are from a part of my life that has had such a lasting impact on who I am and how I see and interact with the world. The four of us -- Reiko Jones, Jennifer Ewart, Stephen Chaisson and I -- met in Miami, Florida in late August 2010 at what’s known in the Peace Corps experience as Staging, or the welcome orientation, right before flying off to our country of service. So we were part of a group of about 30 complete strangers who had made a commitment to live and work abroad for two years as Peace Corps Volunteers in the Eastern Caribbean.  The four of us ended up being part of the group that served in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Don’t worry if you’re not sure where exactly this island nation is, because as I admit in the episode I definitely had to google it when I got my official invitation. You’ll get to hear about the kind of challenges, surprises and moments of insight that we experienced during our service. We talk about how being Peace Corps volunteers helped us feel mentally equipped to handle being in isolation during the pandemic. And how we each healed differently upon our return to the states.
