Episode 2.29: The annual festival pilgrimage

It's our favourite time of year. It isn't Christmas (which comes in a close second) but the glory that is festival season. We always wait until August to get going to our favourite (Reading) and this week you'll mostly be finding us knee deep in mosh pits, tents and Barcardi Oakheart.  It's all we can think about to be honest, because we really need some time off. But never fear, if festivals aren't your thing, we've got laughs and banter a plenty as per usual, and we'll even be teaching you some Sex Ed facts at the end!   We’ve got: Fitness woes (I mean who really has the time anyway), travel insurance issues and a whole host of other whinges. The 3 Cuckoos Podcast are back, and they don't understand what us ladies take into the bathroom. The countdown is on, because this week we make our annual pilgrimage to Reading Festival. We've got our packing lists, who we are going to see, what booze we are taking and our favourite festival memories to share with you! And finally, we got down with our weekly quiz - this time Sam quizzes Lea using a legit sex education test. So get on it listeners! Episode 2.28: Who wants a Blue WKD?

Summer time is a time for frolicking through fields, lying on blustery British beaches and picking insects out of lovingly handmade sandwiches. If you are normal or in a Endi Blyton novel that is. If you are us, you'll probably be daydreaming about that time you out off your box on 3 bottles of Hooch when you were 16 and hadn't yet discovered the murky world of Sambuca. Oh for those days. A Smirnoff Ice hangover was, on reflection, much easier to handle than a whiskey one. We’ve got: A chat through what's going on at Edinburgh Fringe this year, clean eating and super naps (Lea doesn't take a breath). Adam Barker takes us through his Facebook page with pretty scary consequences. A retro trip down memory lane. Remember all of those ridiculous sugary alcopops you used to drink as a teen? Well we're reminiscing, with the help of Buzzfeed.  And finally, we got down with our weekly quiz - this time Lea quizzes Sam on very rude place names. So get on it listeners! Episode 2.27: Results won't kill you

Guess who's back, back again. Tell your friends. Also your exes, neighbours, Grannies and everyone on your Facebook friends list. We took a little holiday (everyone needs one right?), and now we are back with a refreshed outlook on life and indeed podcasting. As well as all the usual stuff, we got down to discussing exams and results and how things look very different with a bit of perspective. If you know someone collecting exam results this week, give them a hug and tell them it'll be ok. because it really will. Honest. We’ve got: A big old catch up on our time off from podcasting, the Spotify Discover Weekly playlists and our 4 year anniversary Simon Button talks us through his experiences of a full body massage with hilarious consequences It's A-Level results day this week. We relive our own joy and horror from very many years ago, and talk about why they are not the most important thing in life. And finally, we got down with our weekly quiz - this time Sam quizzes Lea on all things Sexy Time. So get on it listeners! Episode 2.26: HTCLive x 1

We decided to play fast and loose with convention this week, and instead of meticulous planning and razor sharp editing we decided to grab some gin, our laptops and take a Friday night live slot on Mixlr. For those of you who tuned in live last week, then grab a tea and enjoy it again. For those of you that missed it - well we can only warn you that the swearing, gin and screw ups are liberal... We’ve got: Learning how to use Mixlr for live streaming, and some epically bad live chat from our friends in the audience (thanks guys). Taste testing some incredible fruity gins from our friends at FruitBooze. Review and round up of more festival drinking options including some new options from cocktail connoisseurs Parrot Bay. Answering some of your questions, whilst playing an ill advised game of I have never. And finally, we got down with our Cards Against Humanity play of the day. We are horrible people. So get on it listeners! You can listen to the podcast straight away by pressing play on the player above, going to the Episodes page, checking out our Feedburner RSS Feed or subscribing on iTunes. Episode 2.25: Sam v Lea

Oh for a pub quiz. A bottle of wine, good friends and endless questions that we don't really know the answer to. From quiz shows, board games and phone apps we cannot get ENOUGH of answering obscure questions so we decided to do one on the podcast. We invited our good friend Dee to set the questions and act as quizmaster. And she picked a London quiz of all sorts of goodness with some odd facts thrown in. You'll have to listen to see who reigned victorious. We’ve got: We get back in the saddle. Hitting the gym, wrapping up our Buddy Box competition (enter here!) and deciding that we are going to record live on the 25th June at 9pm. You can join us on Mixlr and chat and stuff! Amy & Emma-Louise chat about understanding what you are looking for in a life partner, and how to know if someone could be The One. We love quizzes. WE LOVE THEM. So we decided to do one with the help of our love friend Dee Baker. We won't spoil who wins. And finally, we got down with our Cards Against Humanity play of the day. We are horrible people. Episode 2.24: In the air

We all love holidays. Sam has just come back off hers and is currently navigating the Tube with death in her eyes, fading sunburn and a sinking feeling that she probably has many months before she can get away again. Lea however still has it all to come, so is feeling pretty smug. So before a fist fight can ensue, we decided to chat about the one thing we have in common - a desire to get through long haul flights unscathed and feeling box-fresh. No one likes being cooped up for 9+ hours on a plane feeling all yucky and weird, so we've decided to give you all the tips you need for a pleasant flight. We’ve got: Sam's back so we chats Cuba and drinking all the rum, and Lea catches us up on celeb deaths back home. The 3 Cuckoos lads get up het up about Facebook - so we let them get it off their chests. Sam's been flying long haul and Lea's just about to - we share our top tips on coping with a long ass flight. And finally, we got down with our Cards Against Humanity play of the day. We are horrible people. So get on it listeners! Episode 2.23: Summer loving

Summer summer summer tiiiiiime. It's a right about now, in almost mid-June that you should get your Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince on and start wishing for those long, hot and hazy Summer days. We love summer - sort of. Despite being pale girls, there is nothing like a cheeky Magnum, weekend BBQ and summer dresses to get us all hot under the collar about this season. We thought we'd share with you some of our favourite things about summer - but why not share yours too? Drop us a Tweet and get involved! We’ve got: Sadness about no longer being about to tick the young box, the Things On My Rabbit twitter account and a philosophical discussion about hair. Adam Barker brings us his tales of Pinterest and shows us what he's been pinning and why. We've got an in depth chat about all our favourite things during Summer, and we are BEGGING the sun to come out and play. And finally, we got down with our Cards Against Humanity play of the day. Episode 2.22: Get your health on

It's fair to say that healthy living has really been on our mids in 2015. We've covered all sorts of topics and interviewed lots of people in this subject area and you've been telling us that you love it! So we invited friend of Tea Towers Laura Agar Wilson over for a Skype chat to give us her awesome perspective on healthy lifestyles, and her top tips for eating right. She's also just published a recipe book too, so you can hear the full low down on how that book came about, and how she juggles are awesome health empire with being a Mum to the gorgeously cute 9 month old Finley. We’ve got: A very Cuban catch up (Sam is currently on her holibobs), buying things from Asda and drinking on a school night Simon Button bring us the latest and greatest in the world of news and political pessimism. We interview the amazing Laura Agar Wilson from Wholeheartedly Healthy about her new book Grains As Mains, healthy living and eating and self care. You can check out her gorgeous Instagram too! Episode 2.21: Mornings are difficult

Depending on your viewpoint, mornings are either the inner circle of hell or the start of something beautiful. It seems that you are either a morning person or not, but we'd quite like to get better at mornings so we took to YouTube to get some inspiration. We weren't exactly inspired but we did reveal a fair amount about our selves and our morning habits. So, enjoy that one. We’ve got: Lea tells us all about her pants and how they stay up and reveals her recent brush with menstruation. Amy Liz and Emma-Louise Trotter tackle the important topic of body image and diets and how society shapes our viewpoint. We got obsessed with watching Morning Routines on YouTube so we decided to take a long hard look at our own. We were basically horrified. And finally, we got down with our Cards Against Humanity play of the day. We are horrible people. So get on it listeners! Episode 2.20: Putting stuff in gin

You don't have to have been listening that long to know that we like to think of ourselves as booze aficionados. We can drink it, we can mix it, we can buy it and we've even had a go at infusing it. But we are not the experts at that last one. So instead we found a comedian who happens to have a bar in his front room, run gigs from his kitchen and infuse fruit gin. We love gin. And we're ok with fruit. So we appreciated this. We’ve got: Chatter on what really happens when you hire a Personal Trainer, and how it helped Sam out of a massive slump (and Lea puts stuff in her mouth again). The 3Cuckoos Podcast guys . An interview with comedian Paul Savage on his life as a stand up, his best and worst gigs and his business Fruit Booze Collective (where he puts fruit combos into gin!) And finally, we got down with our Cards Against Humanity play of the day. We are horrible people. So get on it listeners! Ever felt stuck in a rut? We have too. But bearing in mind you spend more hours at work than you do at home or elsewhere it's probably about time we sorted ourselves out. Adam Barker chats about our favourite sitcom of all time Friends, and all the character quirks that went with it. Career Planning 101, where we take you through the 5 steps you need to plan your ultimate career (and how you decided what to do next!) Episode 2.18: Blurt it out

Since we started the podcast and blog, we've always endeavoured to not only bring you content that will make you howl out loud or choke on your cuppa, but also content that will educate, inform and inspire. Wellbeing and health content has remained consistently popular with you guys, so we wanted to bring on a expert, and someone we have admired for afar for many years to talk all about it. In definitely our favourite and most tearful interview to date, we talk Jayne Hardy, the CEO and Founder of The Blurt Foundation, Jayne uses her own experiences of depression to help others who suffer or care for someone with depression and it is nothing short of incredible. Hold on to your hats - this one is a goody. We’ve got: A celebration of our 4 year bestie-versary and a mini review of the Into The Woods afternoon tea at Sketch in Mayfair that we attended to celebrate. Simon Button bring us the latest and greatest on this week's General Election in the UK. We interview the amazing Jayne Hardy, CEO and founder of The Blurt Foundation about the work they do to stamp out mental health stigma and start a conversations about wellbeing. Episode 2.17: Giving away a budgie

We know what it is like to be a frustrated artist. You know we've been doing our thang over here for nearly four years and well - where is all the fame and fortune we were promised? But despite these major feels, we CANNOT understand why some of our fellow artistes (we're looking at you Nicki Minaj) make up song lyrics which are, for want of a better phrase, completely batshit mental.  Obviously we're dissecting them just for you, alongside our own glorious love for Disney and everything in between. We’ve got: Our favourite Disney songs of all time, sexual Elsa from frozen and Aladdin 3 (which apparently should be the best Disney film of all time). Amy Liz and Emma-Louise Trotter give us the lowdown on why being a woman is freaking awesome. A huge dissection of all the very crazy and offensive lyrics that exist in songs today including Anaconda (we won't link that video though!), Trumpets, McArthur Park, Sexy Bitch, Wonton Soup and Let's Get Ready To Rumble. And finally, we got down with our Cards Against Humanity play of the day. We are horrible people. So get on it listeners! Episode 2.16: Hello Fitty

We sort of got a bit serious this week (but obviously in our own special way - there are still vagina jokes and white wine and all of the usual things). We invited our friend Dee, the politics enthusiast, to educate us all about turning up and ticking boxes for the election. Listen to this lady...she knows. Then we got serious about our health - we sat down with the gorgeous Eliza of Healthy Living London to have a chat about health in the sensible way - small changes, big feels. Honestly, we were chatting for about two hours and it was probably one of our best interviews yet. We'd love to hear your feedback! We’ve got: Life updates include blue glitter that gets everywhere, white wine hangovers and Sam's love for Iggy Azaelea. An extra special contribution by our friend Dee Baker about democracy and all things voting. One of our favourite interviews to date, Eliza Flynn the found founder of Healthy Living London stopped by to give us some tips of keeping fit and healthy in the big city, and keeping calm too. (Also, Eliza was only on Total Wipeout! Check out her video. Badass). We were also lucky enough to be gifted two of their Hello Fitty T-Shirts which you can see on our instagram - but buy yours here if you think they are fabulous (we do!). Episode 2.15: Do you suffer from Instagram envy?

The biggest question on our lips this week are where are the twins from Fun House and who comes out of drama school wanting to be a witch surrounded by puppets. And further to this, why call a kids TV show T-Bag?! Britain in the 80s...it was a scary scary place. Another scary place these days is Social Media. Instagram to be exact. All the pretty pictures of the abs and green smoothies are making us feel inadequate. So what would we do? Stop looking, probably. We’ve got: The ultimate of discussions on cartoons for kids - 80s and 90s style. Apologies in advance - Sam sings all the theme tunes.  Our newest contributors The 3Cuckoos give Lea some very wise dating advice. Well, wise if you are dating a Yorkshireman. Social Media and all the bad feelings it brings. Does Instagram or Pinterest make you feel like a bad human because your life isn't perfect? It does with us too. So we'll probably unfollow them. And finally, we got down with our Cards Against Humanity play of the day. We are horrible people. So get on it listeners! Episode 2.14: Swear words and how to use them

Ever since Episode 1, we've had the big fat explicit sign on out podcast doors. We're a bit rude and a lot sweary but we've decided that now might be the time to reflect on our use of those naughty words. Are we desensitised? Are we just truly horrible people? Will anyone be surprised to find out Lea is actually a legit rebel? Probably not. But you'll have to listen to find out! We’ve got: Sam's first foray into Netball with Go Mammoth, toddler sized cats and booking AirBnb apartments whilst drunk Adam Barker takes us on a tour of his Instagram account A heated debate on our every day use of the swear word. We discuss The Allusionist's C-Bomb episode, Gretchen Rubin's habits quiz and whether we'd save a child from a fire. And finally, we got down with our Cards Against Humanity play of the day. Episode 2.13: What's in my mouth?

We've spoke of Lea's gag reflex a lot recently (just go back a couple of episodes and you'll hear why), but neither of us imagined what would happen if we filmed ourselves putting things in each other's mouths. Easy now soldier. We mean food and drink! You know we'll do anything for a laugh so for the first time we filmed it too. We loves us a meal which is mid-morning, contains bacon and gives you a bottomless alcoholic drink. The trend for brunch is strong is this one, and we've decided we prefer it to afternoon tea. Stay tuned for very much brunch reviews in the future. One another note, we're not really doing so well on the healthiness since our chatter on My Fitness Pal. Bottomless alcoholic drinks? We’ve got: The suggestion that brunch is the new afternoon tea - you heard it here first! We've invited the ladies from Crooked Pieces to tell us all about their podcast "And Then She Said A Funny Thing..." and their new Kickstarter Campaign.  We've discussed the way to deal with the worst of hangovers, and encourage you to share your ideas. Episode 2.10: The north south divide

What's an accent between friends? Whilst our slightly generic/cockney/rural London accents have been recorded for your aural pleasure for many years, we thought it was time to explore what was beyond Watford and go North to see what lies within. Who better to take us on a magical mystery tour of their gaff Yorkshire than our friends at The 3 Cuckoos Podcast? You'll learn what a Ginnel is, how much it is for a pint and how to get eyed up in the local Conservative Club. It's a cultural feast we tell you! We’ve got: Discussions on how not to drink a Jaegerbomb (clue, it isn't through your nose) and getting inevitably older. Roisi Proven rants about statistics and how at the end of the day, they are pretty much bullshit. Warning - sometimes statistics can be dangerous. We chat to the guys at The 3 Cuckoos Podcast about their hit comedy show and the cultural difference between the North and the South. And finally, we got down with our Cards Against Humanity play of the day. We are horrible people. So get on it listeners!
