It’s normally a private training, reserved for people who register, but in this episode, I wanted to share part of our first session with you. When Jay bought his first investment property, he didn’t think it would turn into a two-year battle - delayed by a party wall surveyor, derailed by a rogue contractor, and topped off with a “nil valuation” from the bank at refinance. Joe bought his first property at 21 - a brand-new, city-centre apartment for £110,000. It's not the type of project most of us would get excited about, but he obviously saw something in it, as a few years later he sold it and had turned his £20,000 deposit into a £90k profit. That was in 2011, and after years of honing his craft he’s just bought a 12,000 square foot commercial building at auction, with no prior experience in commercial, and no clear plan for what he’d do with it. Just another hunch that it was a good deal, and the confidence to back himself. In this episode, we dive into the lessons Joe’s learned from taking these leaps, and how he rebuilding his portfolio to be more profitable, more manageable, and more aligned with the life he actually wants to create. Adam was almost a decade into his surgical training, a few years away from becoming a consultant, and working towards his PHD, when one day he looked up and realised this wasn't what he wanted to do for the next 40 years of his life. Joe Davies, is one half of a powerhouse property duo who recently made a life-changing move - exiting their successful serviced accommodation management agency in Liverpool and relocating to sunny Spain.  Now, while enjoying a slower pace of life, he and his wife Katy are still actively growing their UK property portfolio. I’ve been banging on for years about property as a means to an end rather than the end itself, so I’m thrilled to share today’s episode with you, with Julie Talbot. The Renters Reform bill has been on the agenda for UK Government since it was first proposed in 2019, but with Labour’s win in the 2024 general election, it looks as though it will be reprioritised by Keir Starmer’s party under a new name - the Renters’ Rights Bill. And with the bill being brought forward by a left leaning party, it’s no surprise that the focus will be on providing more security and protection for tenants while ensuring landlords know their responsibilities.
