Podcast with Gabby and Sarah of GRADitude the podcast for SPTs.

Hey Jetsetters! After postponing all of our 2020 courses due to the Covid - 19 pandemic, we are working on 2021 bounceback year. In order to drum up some interest in our upcoming Physical Therapy Continuing Education courses, we will be releasing some podcasts with some of our most interesting people in the Physical Therapy world. Today we are releasing this podcast with Gabby and Sarah of The GRADitude podcast, a podcast by Student Physical Therapists for Student Physical Therapists. It is one of the top podcasts we have heard for advice pertaining to future and current PTs out there. One of the reasons this podcast is so impressive is the self awareness and wisdom to both experience Physical Therapy school while at the same time, advice those who are going through it or perhaps are thinking of a future in the profession. One of the impressive things about these young PTs is their ability to get students to manage the impending student debt. most grad school folks accumulate. If their advice is followed it can save future PTs a significant chunk of money.

Podcast: Should You Do an Orthopedic Residency Program?

Hello there new PTs! This is a great episode for a few reasons. First of all, you get to hear from two Doctors of Physical Therapy, Andy Kim PT, DPT and Julia Hayes PT, DPT, as they close out their first year in practice as a Physical Therapist. They are also in the final days of arguably the best Physical Therapy Orthopedic Residency Program in the country, the Kaiser Permanente Orthopedic Residency Program. You can hear them reflect on the last year’s highlights, sacrifices, learning moments and hardships while the memories are still fresh in their minds. This candid discussion will educate any Physical Therapist who is considering an Orthopedic Residency program or simply looking to improve with choosing continuing education. We were also super lucky that Susan Bemis, in the final week of her 43 year career (yes, 43 years!!!!!) stopped by to give advice to these young Physical Therapists. The interview is led by both Jiten Bhatt and Randal Glaser, mentors and co-founders of Jetset Rehab Education, a company that provides Con Ed for Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Personal Trainers in travel destinations. Special Note: Thanks to all who traveled out to Kauai with us this earlier this month! We had an amazing time and the course with @motusspecialists aka Drew Morcos, was one of our best we have had! We look forward to traveling with you again to take more amazing Con Ed in travel destinations.

Hey Physical Therapists! Get your Financial Health in order with the White Coat Investor. - Podcast

Most young Physical Therapists I know are having a tough time managing their finances. Student loans, rent, kids, car payments, and sometimes even mortgages. All of this demonstrates how difficult it is to attain Financial Independence. Luckily for us, there is Dr. Jim Dahle, an Emergency Physician, who has achieved finance independence in his early 40’s. He also runs a popular personal finance blog, The White Coat Investor (www.whitecoatinvestor.com) for physicians, Physical Therapists, and many other health care professionals, providing them with resources and educational information on how to get out of student loan debt, manage your finances, and invest towards financial freedom and a secure (possibly early) retirement. In this episode, Jim provides a quick financial crash course on the basics of student loan and investment management. This may be the podcast that changes your financial life! His popular 2014 book, The White Coat Investor: A Doctor's Guide To Personal Finance And Investing, has nearly 900 reviews with an average rating of 4.8 of 5 stars: Dr. Dahle also has thousands of subscribers on monthly newsletter, offers several personal finance online course series through his site, and runs a Facebook page as well as group for The White Coat Investor with 12,500 plus followers. Enjoy this podcast and while you are here, take a look at our Physical Therapy Continuing Education courses in travel destinations. Link to our courses HERE.

ACL Rehab Podcast with Sylvia Czuppon & Carol Mack

We all have protocols and guidelines to help us with our patients in need of ACL rehab.  It is easy to get in a rut and easy to lose sight of the end goal.  The best thing I can say about this interview is that it got me thinking about the ways I can make changes with the way I treat this patient population.  I hope it does the same for you!  I am really looking forward to this course and had a great time listening to this episode.   Enjoy! Podcast - Melanie Carlone and Paul Tucker, Alignment: Finding relief in every step.

Alignment: Finding relief in every step http://customorthoticsolutions.com/ From left to right:  Randal Glaser, Paul Tucker, Melanie Carlone, Jay Bhatt.  Podcast recorded during our Portland happy hour.  Melanie Carlone, DPT, RYT of http://customorthoticsolutions.com/is a longtime friend of Jetset Rehab Education.  When she attended our class in Portland last year we recorded this during our networking hour.  She is a Physical Therapist with over 30 years of experience.  She is a fantastic Physical Therapist and I treasure the time I worked side by side with her in Atlanta, Georgia quite a few years ago. Melanie Carlone in action during our course in Portland with Michael Shacklock An orthotic with total contact, moves with the body and utilized the windlass mechanism.  The contact is emphasized to promote proprioception of the foot. Melanie has devised a complementary program of proprioceptive shoe inserts and empowered patient education as tools to recapture "Alignment as Nature Intended", our birthright. This birthright is often eroded in modern living. As a PT she lived and worked many years in Africa and Asia and is especially struck by how much of our chronic pain comes from being out of touch with internal and external alignment principles. When clients are empowered with clear self-understanding  and "bells of mindfulness" (in the form of Maximal Arch Gait Integrated casted shoes inserts) they stand and move and benefit in remarkable ways. This type of insert and training can be used as a powerful adjunct to any practice. Below are some photos that we discussed during the podcast and a link to her amazing product. Please visit her website and see what her inventive take on foot posture can do with the right patient. Construction aligned with nature, a permaculture rammed earth school project  in Malawi with her service work team - makeaworldofdifference.org     In the podcast we discuss how these African women avoid back injuries yet work in this position all the time!  Photo taken by Melanie Carlone. footprints in the sand.... http://customorthoticsolutions.com/ http://mvmtscience.com/ Paul Tucker Paul Tucker joins midway through the interview.  He runs the website http://mvmtscience.com/   - Randal Glaser
