Rev Ben Leney talks from Acts 7 v 44-60. We reach the climax (peroratio!) of Stephen's speech, his vision of Jesus, and his death.  His speech focuses on the Temple and God's glory. His life is an exemplary witness to the Jewish leaders but they respond with rage. Some discussion included!

Gideon gives Acts 6:17-29 the 'Smit' treatment: he reminds us of what has gone before, looks to what is ahead, and brings his own take on Moses' experience of being neither Egyptian nor Hebrew.  Stephen's speech is key in the growth of the early Church - this is part 2 and part 3 is due after the 18th May.

Unusually, this is three for the price of one.  James, Martin and Ben tackle Acts 6:15-7:16, starting the 'assault' on the longest speech in the entire book, as Stephen addresses the Sanhedrin before his martyrdom which creates a growth explosion in the early church.
