In his former life, he was Commander Jack of the United States Navy and SEAL Team. Jack Riggins spent 20 years in SEAL Team and U.S. Special Operations serving all around the globe. A native of Fremont Nebraska, Jack earned an NROTC scholarship and graduated from The University of Nebraska in 1998 “Go Big Red”. Jack graduated from Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL School (BUD/S) in Class 222.”The Hardest BUD/S class EVER”. Jack is also a graduate of the Army Command and General Staff College and holds a Master’s Degree in Global/International Affairs and Interagency Collaboration from Kansas University. Jack participated in contingency operations as part of the United States initial response from October to December 2001, after the 9/11 attacks. Later, assigned to SEAL Team THREE as a Troop Commander, Jack was the Commander of Naval Special Warfare Task Unit-Ramadi, Iraq in charge of counter-terrorism and counterinsurgency operations in Al-Anbar Province. At Special Reconnaissance Team-1, Jack focused on Multidiscipline Intelligence Support Missions for SEAL Team, Special Operations Units and other government agencies “Good Times”. A leadership and cultural dynamics expert, Jack has consulted with business leaders across the United States, Proathletes, Olympians, and NCAA Teams in his journey. My guest on Episode 133 is Marc Summers. Born in Indianapolis, Marc enjoyed entertaining and dabbling with magic. After graduating college, he wound up in Los Angeles working as a comedian at The Comedy Store and The Improv, later combining his comedy and magic at the famous Magic Castle. It was while serving as a page at CBS that he was given the opportunity to fill-in for an ailing announcer on the game show, “The Joker’s Wild.” His quick wit and charm gained him immediate notice and Summers transitioned into performing audience warm- ups for such hit network shows as “SOAP,” “Alice,” and “Star Search.” It was soon after that Summers’ life would change with the offer to host “Double Dare,” a move that would springboard his career in television. Marc is currently hosting the longest-running show on Food Network, “Unwrapped”, a job he has held for eleven years. He has also hosted “Next Food Network Star”, “Ultimate Recipe Showdown”, and many specials for the channel. Summers is also Executive Producer of “Dinner: Impossible”, “Food Feuds” and “Restaurant: Impossible”. Some will remember him as the former Host/Producer of Nickelodeon’s “Double Dare” and “What Would You Do?” while others will remember him from his days on ABC’s “Home Show,” where he doubled as both Correspondent and Guest Host.
