Pirates plague the stations as Ji’em Fil and his crew spot a Blazing Claw emblazoned on a foreign ship. A pirate’s life is not all you might think it is if your only reference are trashy holovids. It’s not like that at all. Not even a little. Pirates usually don’t make it to retirement age, and even if they do, no pirate really retires. And it isn’t like you’ll be swimming in credits. It’s a hard scrabble life where many never even survive to the first shore leave. Frankly, most people are in it for less than noble reasons. And the worst part, the Empire grows in strength thanks to the activities of pirates. Make no mistake, the pirate’s life? It’s not for anyone who wants a long life and a chance at wealth. Ji’em Fil reassures folks that, out here in the big wide galaxy, going armed is completely normal. It ensures a polite society, of course. Because no one is about to be impolite to the man packing a Flechette Launcher. Of course, local standards vary, and it pays to know just what is okay, and what is likely to cause comment. So, really, just because someone is packing weapons, it doesn’t necessarily mean they are intent on putting holes in someone. Ji’em Fil prepares for a B.o.S.S. inspection and walks you through the S.O.P of B.o.S.S. procedures. Acronyms aside, it helps to know what credentials and reports might exist on you and your ship. And what kinds of ‘misunderstandings’ can follow you around. Really, though, it’s all about the database, baby. Keep your nose just clean enough and you might get away with almost anything. You count on the bureaucracy to be bureaucratic and just lazy enough to to make things more inconvenient to actually follow up on than it’s worth to chase down minor offenses. Ji’em Fil is so far under the weather he can’t even see the local sun. Getting ill in a galaxy far, far away is no fun, especially if you have no immunity to whatever the equivalent of the local crud is. You have to be careful out there, sometimes the littlest things are the most dangerous. There are options though. You COULD get lucky and find a miracle cure. But odds are you won’t go unscathed. Be careful where you go and who you meet, there’s just no telling what kind of ick you might get. An elite squad of sharpshooters and scouts, the only fault seems to be a tendancy to work for the Empire. Ji’em Fil makes a big purchase, a Cardan space station. In fact, the very station he’s been hanging out on. It’s not all fun and sunshine though, Cardan stations are complicated things demanding lots of attention. Easily expanded and coming in different varieties, each more well armed than the last, a fully prepared Cardan station is nothing to shake a stick at. So don’t. Ji’em Fil flies out to Bespin to pick up the ship he wanted to buy and decides to make a vacation of it.  Booking a tour on Star Tours, Fil’s first mistake was apparently getting on board the transport as he finds himself in for the ride of his life… It doesn’t go well.
