The Minutemen

The Heroes Journey is an RPG staple. For ASA this week we flip the script and talk about what games it’d be fun to be the villain. Then for the Rest of the Show we have a two part-er. We start with a talk on DRM and anti-cheat, then move to the rumored Nintendo Direct.

It’s the first episode of 2019. So for ASA we’re talking about what we’re looking forward to the most this year. For the Rest of the Show, we delve into Smash Bros Ultimate.

So this week Tommy and Patrick slacked off and didn’t read anything or have any new information for us. So Justin starts off with a rant about the Rebirth: Batman comics, and talks about his hype for The Batman Who Laughs solo story. They discuss the Avengers: Endgame trailer and give a bit of a rant and some speculation on what might happen. The guys talk about Aquaman hype. Lastly Justin goes through a slight review on the last few episodes of Titans.

Have you ever been to a gaming convention? Lots of people go to them these days to interact with their favorite games. Zac and Darren discuss the future of conventions, how they effect eSports, and when we might see a Sony Direct.

To start, we apologize for the technical issues that occurred during this episode. Darren and Christian are two men on a mission this week. They’re trying to decide if a post-modern format is going to happen, and if it does, what the outcome would be.

Yeah but only you can understand what I say. At least that’s what Pikachu will have us believe. With Zac, our resident Pokemon master, in tow. We dive into the Detective Pikachu trailer.

Pat talks about finishing vol 4 of X-men Gold. Justin talks about Suicide Squad vol 7 Rebirth. Justin been slacking and reading manga, and inadvertently created a new game to play on the show. First thing the guys talk about is a PG-13 Deadpool movie coming in December, Once Upon A Deadpool. Next they talk about Obi-Wan Kenobi being cast as Black Mask in Birds of Prey (aka Harley and Friends). Vin Diesel is going to portray Bloodshot on the big screen. Lastly Justin talks about the most recent episode of Titans and how good of a show it is. This was a fairly slow week, resulting in a short episode, we have an exciting new game to play next episode folks so stay tuned and listen to Pat slaughter anime names.

With Red Dead Redemption 2 on the horizon there’s been a number of conversations around crazy work hours. We break down every side of the argument to give a full perspective on the issue. In the end, the validity of long work hours depends on your personal preference and life style, but how Rock Star is going about things isn’t ethical.

Many people have pulled all night-ers in their time, but doing it for charity is another animal. In this episode we go over how gaming and charity efforts are connected. Either through streaming for charity, or companies selling micro-transactions.

What better week to have a challenger approaching then one where we’re talking about Smash Bros. J, Pat, and Darren talk about who they want to see on the roster for the next Smash game, who they think is getting axed, and what could happen to some of the clones. They also go into the theory that Smash 5 will be a iterative squeal instead of a full blown new game.

The Squad is all in NC once again. It’s like it’s a yearly tradition of something. We decided to talk about co-op this week due to the copious amounts of magic we’ve played this week. There’s also a special appearance from a new guest!
