Where the Math lovers in the house?! What comes to mind when you hear the word Math- horror movie vibes or tingly bells of creative ingenuity? Some highlights: You don't read Math, it's for practice! To make it make better sense, take real life before the abstract and not the other way around. Why is menopause being taught?

Who would have thought menopause would be a hot topic of discussion even in education? A few years ago, menopause was introduced as a topic to be taught in the National Curriculum of England. Menopause is simply defined as the end of reproductive life, which tends to come at an earlier age these days. This episode's conversation is with my delightful guest, Kathyrn Colas, a menopause coach and advocate for menopause workplace awareness training. With 80% of women experiencing debilitating symptoms which can lead to issues like hormonal depression, Kathryn points out the need to talk more about menopause in the workplace, schools and homes. Highlights to look out for in this podcast episode: Make the effort to initiate the conversation even as men Normalizing menopause and having the conversation sooner than later is better Get expert advice if you're experiencing unusual symptoms, noticing changes in your body or being more short tempered than usual,  Many more tips as you listen-also learn more from Kathryn's menopause toolbox, simplyhormones.com  For workplace training, coaching and to get your copy of her book, go right over to: kathyrncolasacademy.com

Faith-based education (Pt 3): Insights from an Islamic perspective

Welcome to Part 3 of our very insightful series on faith-based education. On this week's episode, enjoy the very compelling conversation with guest, Mallam Musa Bukar, the Executive Director of Esteem Learning Center. Highlights of our conversation:  Our guest shared how his early schooling experience as a Roman Catholic school student inspired his vision of starting a faith-based school with Islamic focus.  Related habits that he also adopts in his school include regular prayers, memorization, deep values and imbibing the culture of TOLERANCE. Interesting to note that across all conversations in this 3 -part faith based series, one common thread is the aspect of raising children with high- value standards and showing understanding to others of other cultures, religions and backgrounds. It's loaded with great nuggets of wisdom, so please listen, share your feedback and also pass this along to your friends! Faith-based education (S-2): Insights from a Christian perspective

Join in on this lively conversation in the second part of our faith-based education series with special guest, Madame Merola in the house! 'Education is beyond everything we have defined education to be.' Faith-based education for context refers to a way of education that integrates religious aspects of a particular faith, based on related values. In this episode, we look at what key things inform education decisions especially when faith is involved. What value has education brought to my life? What can I extract from that and have as a foundation for my kids? Which system or choice presents the internal values that can be instilled in our children? I enjoyed some of the punchy nuggets in this discussion favoring the benefits of faith-based education such as how valuable having like-minded people around them is. On the other hand, how do you ensure you're not trying to shield or keep our children in a bubble with our choices? Okay, so you know what? Please just click, download, listen to this educative episode and share with others too- then you'll get to enjoy all the profound answers to some of the questions above. Faith-based education (Pt 1): A Jewish perspective

Faith-based schooling options are preferred by a growing number of families for many reasons. Some parents on the other hand have reservations about the tendency to make their children less tolerant or open-minded to other faiths outside of theirs. What about you, on a scale of 0 to 5, how important is faith inclusion when you in your education choices for your children? Is it a top priority in your decisions and what positive outcomes have you seen in others as they immerse into the society beyond their schooling? Debbie Gispan, my special guest in this first part of our episode series dons her mum hat and part-consultant hat at the end too to educate us in this authentic, informative and engaging conversation on her experience as a Jewish mum with kids in Jewish schools. Did you know that there are so many Jewish holidays that are observed and also I finally got a deeper understanding of what keeping 'kosher' means! I'll make sure not to post in on 'Shabbat' too. (Showing off some of the interesting things learnt on this episode already!) Okay, so Debbie Gispan is also a seasoned education consultant who helps with placements for international families in boarding schools in the UK, so make sure to reach out via www.panoba.co.uk if you're considering this for your child.
