Team Pogi examines gender roles in their relationships and how they've changed over time. 

The Pogi Boys return after some exciting changes. Aaron moved in with his girlfriend, Adrian bought his first car, and Patrick graduated and now works for a national women's clothing brand.

In this episode, Patrick, Adrian, and Aaron recap the quarantine season. From topics of veganism, being a nurse, role models, and insecurities, the guys hash what they've taken away from the passed few months and breakdown their goals for the future. Is this the end of the modern FIlipino boy podcast?

We recorded this episode in March and it fell to the bottom of our priority list when we decided to post episodes with guests. Recently, more and more brave individuals have come out and shared their truth about sexual harassment in Winnipeg. The Pogi Project stands with those individuals in the fight against this type of behaviour. In this episode, we acknowledge poor habits we've seen on dating/hook up apps and sliding in DMS.  We hope this episode educates you about poor behaviour on dating online or in real life. Whether you're on the receiving or delivering end, recognize fuck boy behaviour is lame and does not lead to a long term, healthy relationship. Sad to say a lot of pogi boys learn that the hard way, but recognizing this behaviour and then making the commitment to be better is what matters. Our first episode missing a Team Pogi member (Adrian) LOL. This week, Reiner Carlos joined Patrick and Adrian to talk about his journey from being a regular Winnipeg hobby photographer, to a Toronto-based fashion photographer who's worked with names like Hudson's Bay, Elle Canada, and more. We're telling you right now that we're not experts on this and we're still learning, but please, SAVE YOUR MONEY!  In this episode we get real about our spending and saving habits and what our goals our when preparing for the adult world.

As Filipino-Canadians, many of us a led to believe that nursing is the only notable career we can take on. Many of us fall into this and learn to hate it, or love it — this is why we brought our girl Karla Ruiz on the show. Nursing wasn't something she wanted at first, but she learned to love it because she couldn't see herself working anywhere else. Listen to her journey as a nursing student, photographer, and all around boss woman. It was so refreshing to have a modern Filipino girl represent and share her story. In light of recent events, we decided this episode would be half about our original topic of religion, and a bit about #BLACKLIVESMATTER and how we can have healthier conversations about racism and discrimination in our own homes. To be honest, it's difficult to talk about this. A lot of the time, we don't really feel qualified or educated enough to talk about topics like this. In the end, we need to do our best to get the right messages across in order to promote change in the world.

Insecurities — we all have them. It's crazy how our personal self talk can be one of the most toxic things we experience in our daily life. We don't know why we do it, but we encourage you all to try and stop. Cliche as it is, nobody really cares about those little things as much as you think they do. Listen as we chat with Angelo Domingo about insecurities in our appearances, mindsets, etc.

This is probably the most wholesome conversation we've had so far. The guys and I get real about the people the role models we aspire to be, and breakdown the impact we want to have on others. Six months ago, we didn't think we'd still have a brand together, but now that we're still going strong, we realize we have a responsibility to be a great example for our listeners — modern Filipino boys or not. 

In this episode, the boys get real about some of the poor habits and vices they're trying to kick. The truth — everyone's got something from biting your nails or using a vape. Habits are hard to kick, but it's important that we understand that they don't rule us. If we don't want em, we are capable of getting rid of them.

Well I flopped. This first episode of the season was supposed to be recorded however I lost the footage! (nooo!!) On the bright side, we're back baby! I just want to mention that the guys and I recorded this before we were required to social distance ourselves. We filmed this at Ian's house with one mic so we do apologize if it's not as balanced as we usually have it, but we promise the episodes to come will be a lot better! We were able to record remotely from our own homes during this pandemic. (bless up for modern technology) This episode we get real about Filipino culture and our food. We honestly went into this thinking that this was an impossible thing, you know, CAUSE FILIPINO FOOD IS SO GOOD! But our boy Ian Supnet showed us what's up. He was even gracious enough to gift us each our own package of vegan burgers to try (video to come soon homies). Have y'all ever tried being vegan? Let us know!
