The Pool, Episode 5: Anyone Can Drown

Episode in The Pool
This week, Patricia sits down with an emotional abuse survivor to show that abuse does not always escalate from emotional abuse to physical abuse, but is no less traumatic as a result. It took us nearly six months to find a survivor willing to come on the show to share their story because there is so much pain, shame and fear around speaking out. For that reason our interviewee will remain anonymous and any indication of their identity has been removed. Having said that, we hope that by listening to the interview, you as listeners come to the conclusion that abuse can take many forms, that there is no shame in talking about it, there's no shame in someone admitting these experiences happened, and in fact it can be helpful and provide closure to speak about these topics in a safe space. If you or someone you know would like to escape an abusive situation, please visit www.wao.org.my or call their hotline on 0379563488. If you’d prefer to WhatsApp or SMS you can contact Tina on 0189888058 for help.
