@MonaDoesFunny is in, or on, The Recovery Room PT#1

As her screen name calls it, this week I sit down with @MonaDoesFunny! This was a fun high-energy interview that reminded me why I started podcasting in the first place. **THIS IS PART ONE OF TWO AND THERE WERE SOME SKYPE ISSUES** We bring back “10 Miles Away” from @OddsLanes (http://soundcloud.com/oddslane)…You know that song from that little show “The Deadliest Catch”? Than Mo’na and I go one on one, and there was no segway or intro she on the second she answered the phone! She complied about people and their bicycles (and let’s be honest…No one likes those people anyway…than she ripped on me for being white (which was fun), than we talked about her parents and what it was like growing up with an uncle the same age as you. Lastly, and the one topic that me all kinds of interested, her teaching of standup comedy to 7th and 8th graders. So listen in, you won’t regret it :)   To learn more about Mo’na go to http://www.facebook.com/MoComedy

Breaking News: Please Welcome New Wax Podcast

As u know The Recovery Room does work with Joe Joe Keys (@JoeJoeKeys) Luppy (@Luppy1) Soul Bastards Records (@sbastards ) & Luped up records (@LupedUpRecords) The fact is that our work with them is growing beyond what I can handle. So we sat down and talked, from that conversation came the birth of New Wax Podcast (@NewWax) Here is the deal, Are u an unsigned musician? Are u struggling to get your music out there?Or better yet Do u want your music heard by 2 (yes 2!) record executives? New Wax Podcast is your opportunity How it works: 1) Follow @NewWax on twitter 2) Email your songs (MP3 format ) to songs@bcdodge.me 3) Your songs will be heard and reviewed by 2 record executives 4) Watch for the episode of the podcast that your song is in. It will be played during the podcast so everyone can hear it, and a review will be included in the podcast, u might get interviewed. That’s it Are u ready? Get set…GO!! In this taste of what is to come we introduce the concept behind New Wax Podcast, than we talk about “Platinum Pedestal” from the band Never Green (@tomasnevergreen)

Hummus in The Recovery Room! (Part #2)

This week in the Recovery Room we go back to talking to Mike and Faiqa from Hey That is My Hummus podcast (www.heythatsmyhummus.com). Faiqa asks the big question, is heath insurance a right? What do you think? If it is a right should it cover birth control? We compare apples, oranges, and pork? We talk about needing to diet, and while I didn’t say in the podcast that I need to…trust me I do! In the process I think I might have gotten a little sacrilegious. I hope I don’t offend to many people. We talk about men using the bathroom. Yes you read that right, but I will type it again…we talk about men using the bathroom, and I give a toilet training tip. Lastly, we have new opening music from Odds Lane (www.oddslanemusic.com) If you have ever watched a little show called “The Deadliest Catch” than you might have heard our opening music…   So come on in it’s time to recover!
