The Retro League
This week we remember one of the worst PS1 games and are not at all surprised that the Gameband crowd-funding project is completely dead. We wonder if cheats and easy-modes are harmless or if they take away from the experience. We've got unreleased trolls and Inner Sphere mechs in this episode of the Retro League.

While Canada may have missed out on the Cabbage Patch Kids riots that swept the US in years past, no one is going to escape Nintendo's wrath went it comes to software piracy. Have you ever wanted to play Neo Geo games in a festive-looking holiday-themed arcade mini-console? No? Well, it's okay because we're all a little looney in this episode of the Retro League.

Black Friday is quickly approaching, so we went looking for deals on retro gaming gifts. What we found has left us bitter, disappointed, and cynical. We are almost as bored with these inflated prices as John Madden was with the last Sega Genesis game to bear his name. We've been feeling frustrated while trying to emulate MS-DOS games and NES light gun games, so it's a good thing Questing for Glory is back to entertain us with RPG speedruns.

This week we're being bombarded by online ads and we watched a 1990's movie that blends horror, action, romance, and revenge. We're surprised by bad translations but not surprised by the sales figures for the NES & SNES classic minis. Pottery Barn has PlayStation Furniture and Vanilla Ice almost had a Game Boy game. Good luck trying to wrap your brain around those two things.

The Mega Drive has turned 30 years old, and we now know which games will be on the PS1 Classic console. Is the world ready for a mash-up of all Data East games? This week AtGames is preparing to dump a large number of plug & play systems onto store shelves for the holiday rush, but the recent NEO GEO mini console has some puzzling button placement. The split between 'hardcore gamers' and 'casuals' goes back much further than some of us thought, and we try yet again to talk about battle royale games without knowing the first thing about them. This week we have evidence that the mythical NES Classic Mini is actually a real product that consumers could buy and not just a scam perpetrated by eBay resellers. We might have to expose our stomachs to cheap burgers in order to get some Mario toys but we were completely perplexed for several minutes by the face of Trog. We've got a Sega CD adaptation of a comic book super hero and a staple of the SNES on this episode of the Retro League.
