The Roundabout Way

Love isn't about being nice, it's about being seen. When we feel seen, we wake up to who we really are as people fully known and fully loved.

How do we navigate the places of significant difficulty, grief, and shame? How can we heal when we feel we've been shattered? How do we connect with God in the dark?

Somewhere early on, we believed that in order to be loved, we had to earn it. Attempting to perform for the approval and acceptance we need has landed us in some dark places. It's time to embrace who we are as people with infinite value.

Most of us have tried to hide the parts of us we consider immature, whether it's our feelings, beliefs, or actions. We would rather appear "spiritual" than allow God to meet us in the frustration, anger, and resentment. But, what if we could see that connecting with God is about authenticity, not positivity? Even when other people are the worst, we can experience growth and change when we allow spiritual connection to be a place where we can be unfiltered, messy, and real.
