On today’s show, I’ll be speaking with Seth Sikes, who’s upcoming performances at Feinstein’s/54 Below pays tribute to one of the greatest entertainers of all time- Liza Minnelli. Seth’s new show is a follow-up to his sold-out, Broadway World Award-winning Judy Garland-themed nightclub act. He returns to the stage May 2 and June 8 with his fabulous 8-piece band, singing Liza’s famous show-stopping standards. Aside from focusing on his solo performances, Seth has spent the past few years as an Assistant Director, working with the incredible Jack O’Brien and David Cromer on award-winning plays, like The Nance and Tribes, as well as the New York Philharmonic’s Sondheim, the Birthday Concert. More recently, Seth has been lured to step onto the stage to interpret old classics for a new audience. Joel’s work has been seen and developed in New York at Ars Nova, Lincoln Center, 54 Below, New York Theatre Barn, and more. In addition to the Larson Award, his honors include being a two-time O’Neill Music Theatre Conference finalist, receiving an NYU-Tisch Alumni Grant (made possible by the Frederick Loewe Foundation), a Margo Lion Award for Outstanding Adaptation, and a Blevins-Thrower Encouragement Award.
