Jacquie Forde was our guest this week and aside from discussion the amazing ability of dog poo to create insight (you have to listen to get it), Jacquie also shared how this understanding can impact in the world of the Scottish Parliament, and the freedom she experiences around the whole area of money.

Our guest today was Cheryl Bond. Cheryl discovered the Principles in 1999 and was able to see the practical implications in her role at BAE systems for 13 years. Since then she’s worked as an executive coach, and it was great to hear her stories and insights about helping businesses get the results they really want (ie not just a conversation about the principles!).

In today’s episode we talk to Georgiana who was looking for a fresh perspective on losing weight. This was a verrrrrry interesting conversation for me as this is one area where it often looks to be that my well-being is linked to the number on the scales. And yet even when we’re completely outside-in about something, it seems the Principles can still make life a lot more simple. You’ll hear us discuss how having a problem is not necessarily a problem (!), getting real about where we see it works inside out and where we don’t, and what any of this has to do with losing weight.

Wow, it’s our tenth episode already! Today we talk to Shailia Stephens-Wursig as she contemplates whether leaving behind one successful business to start a new project is just downright stupid. We looked at the true nature of creativity, and how easy it is to get in our own way just by over-thinking it.  

David Key is a long-time teacher, friend and client of mine. He’s also a JigsawBoxer with over 40,000 clients. All of which is very interesting in it’s own right, but what’s way cooler than any of that is the creation of the G-Pot. Listen to this story of creativity – how to bring something to life without the planning, the strategising, the driving and striving. A beautiful and inspirational story.

This week Elizabeth came to us explaining this: ” My business is in complete transition and I am lost in thought. I get frustrated that things are not happening as quickly and as clearly as I would like and attempting to trust all is well.” And a beautiful conversation ensued about how we get in our own way and prevent the infinite possibility of creativity flowing through us. As you may know Michael has been a mentor of mine for the past two and a half years and I’ve devoured every one of his books over the years. He’s just released this brand new book: The Space Within: Finding Your Way back home – and although I was lucky enough to have a copy to review a while back, I was thrilled that John and I got the chance to jump on a call with him. Today, John, Michael and I talk about what makes you the most successful person in the room, how this conversation is so immensely practical, and an exploration of where creativity comes from. Oh, and we discussed the book too!

Helen experienced anxiety for most of her life, and at one stage was completely unable to travel along a particular stretch of road unless she was hidden under a blanket, or so drunk she could cope with the fear. In this audio she shares the huge turnaround that has happened for her as a result of being in this conversation, and we discuss the nature of insight as a catalyst for change. Helen was also incidentally one of my first coaching clients when I began coaching from my understanding of the Principles and she demonstrates how slow gradual change can be so breathtakingly beautiful.

  So here’s the start of a new adventure: John El-Mokadem and myself have been BFFs since we met as we both apprenticed with Michael Neill in 2014. Each week since that first training we’ve had a Friday lunchtime skype chat together about life. Over that time we’ve discussed everything from tantrumming children to growing our businesses, from house-building projects to wayward and badly behaving puppies (and more ‘serious’ things too of course), and it occurred to us that some of these chats we’ve been having might be helpful for other people to hear. I never fail to walk away from our calls with insights and fresh thinking and I’m so excited that we’ve started this project together. We’re hoping this turns into a regular podcast, but who knows how it will pan out? Anyway, here’s the first episode of the Simplicity  Sessions.
