The St. Charles Borromeo Podcast

After an exciting trip to Rome, Fr. Jeff is back to launch this month's focus at St. Charles Borromeo: "Connecting people to God and each other."As the second pillar of our mission statement, this is a message we all need right now. It's no secret that many of us have settled into the comforts of isolation—it’s easier to watch TV or scroll on our phones than to talk to a neighbor or catch up with an old friend. Today, Fr. Jeff kicks off our parish's intentional push toward true community with each other, and most importantly, with God.

Welcome back as this week we dive into one of our greatest challenges: forgiveness! Fr. Jeff Loseke of St. Charles Borromeo in Gretna, NE explains to us, this week, how learning to forgive allows good to truly triumph in our lives. When faced with deep hurts and grievances, we might want to hold onto our anger and close off our hearts, but instead we hear in this week's homily how the grace of forgiveness is what we are truly called to. We hope you enjoy and continue to pray for us, as we continue to pray for you.

Welcome back as this week we dive into... well... diving in! Fr. Jeff Loseke of St. Charles Borromeo in Gretna, NE explains to us, this week, our need to draw near the Cross. When faced with the gruesome reality of the Lord's Passion, we might want to avert our eyes and even our hearts, but instead we hear in this week's homily what we are truly called to. We hope you enjoy and continue to pray for us, as we continue to pray for you.

Welcome back! At St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Gretna, NE we are diving deeper into finding our mission as parish. One core pillar, which we are focusing on this September, is "Teaching." This week we hear from Deacon Richard A. Fenton, as he beautifully lays out for us, what God's mission is for us. We are called to become students of our faith, or step aside. As with St. Peter, named the rock by Jesus, we too can grow concerned and distracted by the things of this world. We see as man sees, and not as God sees. In this, however, we are not left destitute. We are given two options, to either learn the faith, or inhibit the Lord's path to His cross.

Welcome back! This week, our Gospel proclaims that the mantle of Peter is entrusted with the Lord's mission (the keys of the kingdom) until He comes again in glory! This topic, though polarizing, is important to understand, now more than ever. Under Eliakim, the Israelites were divided, and in the beautiful design of God, we see division in the present day. How did God answer this division? He told Eliakim that He would entrust the House of David with the keys of His kingdom, and in God's plan we should trust. We've been praying for you and we hope that you will continue to pray for us.

Welcome Back! This week we hear from Fr. Jeff Loseke as he preaches on the people Israel, and how they fell short in upholding their covenant with the Lord. Sometimes, God allows us to fall to grow in relationship with Him, and how beautiful it is for the Church, that God should, at His own expense, welcome those of us that are not descendants of the 12 tribes of Israel into His new and everlasting covenant.

Welcome back as we hear from Fr. Jeff Loseke in his Homily on this 19th Sunday in Ordinary Time. This week, we talk about the mystery of Faith. As humans made in the image of God, we are endowed with the ability of blind understanding; the beauty of faith. This faith, however, is a two-way street, wherein God calls us through his offer of His grace, and we must make a decision, to be of him, or of the world.

Join us for another Homily from Fr. Jeff Loseke at St. Charles Borromeo Church. This week we reflect on the Gospel reading of the feeding of the multitudes, and we pray that we might know that God provides, but also listen to the responsibilities this generosity endows on us all.

Join us, this week, as we hear from Deacon Rich on this Sixteenth Sunday in ordinary time. In this homily we hear him reflect on these few weeks spent in Matthew's Gospel. This week, we are told to relax when it is time to relax, and produce when it is time to be fruitful. Consider subscribing if you have not done so! May God bless you.

Join us, as we take a look at this Sunday's Gospel reading (Matthew 13:1-23), the parable of the Sower. Fr. Jeff Loseke of St. Charles Borromeo parish gives an inspiring homily wherein he reminds us that God has tasked us with being intentional and diligent in our proclamation of the Gospel!

A homily, given by Fr. Jeff Loseke, about the peace of the Lord. Follow along as we listen to Fr. Jeff speak on what it means in the Mass when we offer signs of peace, and what transformative power the life of Jesus Christ had on the history of the world.
