Not making people bad and wrong is at the center of Buddhism

Charlotte shares how you can listen to yourself on a deeper level
Takeaway:
You can realize that it’s all conditioning… Just because you’ve had a thought or belief doesn’t make it true. Realize you’re looking through a lens of your conditioning and you are filtering all of those beliefs through that lens, and all the things you see about other people through that lens.
Take note of these and move forward.

Takeaway:
Take time to ask yourself some questions, like: who are you? What brings your soul joy? What do I enjoy doing? What can I do to bring joy to others?
Then, begin writing whatever comes to your mind. And, keep writing until you come to a natural stop, and just stop. Take another breath to clear your mind, draw a line under what you’ve already written, and ask your soul, “What guidance do you have for me today?” Begin writing whatever drops into your head, and just keep going until you hit another natural stop.
Everything below that line is considered “soul ink.”

SBWH Podcast #149: Finding Health in Your Environment
Episode in
The Strong Body Whole Heart Podcast
Yay for a new mini-series!! We are kicking off our latest series on Environmental Wellness. This episode and the amazing interviews to come are all about creating space around us and inside of us that helps us feel the way we want to feel. You can listen using the player below or by subscribing in iTunes.
In the upcoming episodes, you’re going to hear topics like…
Feng Shui
Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up
Spiritual side of your environment
Wholistic Professional Organization
When it comes to our environment we’re not always aware of how much it can affect us. This is what we’ll be covering in this mini-series. The way we interact in our surroundings is something that we often learn from others. You can even take this right back to our childhood, and how you were taught to treat your surroundings.
We want to encourage you to challenge yourself to be super clear and honest with yourself with what you NEED in your environment.
We’re doing this series so that our listeners can sit in with this topic for a month. It can help you determine how you want to align yourself in the new year.
This week’s takeaway is to set an intention to be open as you listen to each of the following episodes. Write the intention on a scrap piece of paper and read it each time, before you listen.
We would love for you to come share your findings in our Worthy Tribe.
Have a great week!

SBWH Podcast Ep. #148: Fed and Fit with Cassy Joy Garcia
Episode in
The Strong Body Whole Heart Podcast
For the last episode of our Nutrition Series we interviewed Cassy Joy Garcia of FedandFit.com. She gives us some amazing insight and tips into living a fully healthy life. You guys are going to love this one! You can listen using the player below or by subscribing in iTunes.
Cassy Joy’s journey started in college, when you’re in your early 20s, you feel invincible, and like you have it all figured out. Her weight kept fluctuating so she’d go back and buy new pants every 4 to 6 months. She also began experiencing joint pain, and thought it was normal. At the time Cassy’s only measure of health was getting slim and getting into skinny jeans. She gave 7 very restrictive diets a try, and just yo-yo’d back and forth. She eventually got to the point where enough was enough and knew she had to try something different.
She decided to look at everything from the science point of view. She eventually came across the Paleo diet, and loved it because it was considered anti-inflammatory, and that just made sense to her: replace the inflammatory foods with healing foods. She also put a bigger emphasis on sleeping more, drinking more water and doing a mixed fitness program.
She began by following a strict Paleo template because that was what she was used to doing. She stopped jumping on and off the bangwagon and eventually her weight loss took a backseat to eating better, resting well, and moving.
She took all of her lessons learned and it turned into her food blog, her nutrition consulting practice, which she eventually turned into the fed and fit project.
It was a shift in mindset that took Cassy from the diet mentality, to freedom. It was not an overnight process. She had to make herself see things differently. You have to shift from where you make decisions in order to find that path to freedom.
She was feeling amazing following a Paleo lifestyle for about 60 days, but began to get sick of the food she had been eating, so she decided to see what would happen if she’d start experimenting and developing her favorite foods in a Paleo way. This is how she became a recipe developer. This is what helped her to feel like she was living a lifestyle, rather than following a diet. It truly helped her bridge the gap.
When it comes to shifting your mindset, Cassy believes that there are NO bad goals.
Perfection has no place here. It’s all about progress.Click To Tweet
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with a superficial goal, but when that goal is over, what happens to your motivation? You need to dig even deeper and find something that will become a long-term goal, when the superficial goal is over.
When we think long-term how we want to live our life, we start acting more long-term.
Maggie asked Cassy to discuss her 4 Pillars of Health.
4 Pillars of Health
Mindset (this is always #1)
Rest and Hydration
Nutrition
Fitness
Throughout your entire journey, Cassy believes that journaling is huge, it is about writing down your most powerful lessons learned.
Cassy goes into more detail about her book and explains the “The Savvy 7,” which are all of the concepts that go into exercise. When you hit all of these parts, you begin to truly experience life.
If you want to learn more about Cassy Joy, you can find her at her website, her Fed & Fit Podcast, her Fed & Fit Book, and finally, her Holiday Feast Cookbook.
This Week’s Takeaway
Cassy recommends that our readers zero in on Pillar #2 – Rest and Hydration. Don’t underestimate the value of sleeping enough at night and drinking enough water.
So take some time to explore how much sleep and water are right for you, and then journal about your lessons learned.
We would love for you to come share your findings in our Worthy Tribe.
Have a great week!
