Tom Barnard Show: Hour 1 - Chris Egert's drive-through dentistry

Snowfall around the Twin Cities makes for less than ideal drivers, so make sure to keep your eyes on the road watch watch for hazards (aka every other driver). In the first hour, SKOR North's Judd Zulgad on the Wild's recent turn of form, a massive house explosion, and any Twins news from the first day of the Winter Meetings, KSTP's Chris Egert talks about a fire at a homeless encampment in Minneapolis and a semi-truck that drove into a dental office in White Bear Lake. Hour #2 has the crew dive into how Minnesota's legalization of marijuana has impacted the state if at all, and Tom tells about the time he mistakenly took 50mg gummies instead of 5mg ones... In hour #3 Kristyn Burtt discusses the morality and legality of being hoodwinked. Bamboozled. Swindled. I think you get the point. It's been a popular method of producing entertainment ever since Punk'd. Hey, it's better than resorting to watching the Kardashians. On the Family we debate how many wieners per hour is too many. For some, zero is the only appropriate number. For others, like Tim and Tevin, it depends on how good the show is. We're not talking about hot dogs, by the way. Stream the show LIVE on the Tom Barnard Show app M-F from 8-12PM or get the show on-demand on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts! Learn more about your ad choices. Tom Barnard Show: Hour 1 - The Timberwolves have legs

Only 15 working today's including this Monday until time off for Christmas! Not that we're counting or anything... In the first hour, SKOR North's Phil Mackey weighs in on when the right time to put up your Christmas tree is and talks about the number one team in the NBA which just happens to be the Timberwolves, KSTP's Chris Egert talks about today being his 6-year "ampuversary" and informs about an uptick of local shootings over the weekend and an update in the stabbing of Derek Chauvin. Hour #2 has Bob Sansevere talk about how he "power watched" season 5 of Fargo and discusses the Gophers bid into the Quick Lane Bowl against Bowling Green. Actress Mariette Hartley joins the show to talk about her new work "Our (Almost Completely True) Love Story" which releases December 8th on Amazon Instant, Apple TV, Vimeo, Google Play, Vudu, and Hoopla. In hour #3 Kristyn Burtt discusses the morbid. Cults, mass shootings, true crime. After all, it is the Halloween season. Wait, no it isn't. Let's switch gears. How about some gift ideas? $15,000 handbag, anyone? Perhaps a diamond-encrusted watch? No? Okay then. On the Family, Costaki asks a philosophical question: if you make fun of the Patriots when no fans are around to hear it, does it really matter? The answer, of course, is yes. Making fun of other teams makes you feel better about your own team, which qualifies as therapy. And they say therapy is important. They also say TV is important, but given some of the shows out there these days, we're not so sure. The Family: Insuring our endowments - #2453

The crew looks over the headlines of the day and what a surprise, everyone hates everyone and is suing every person they know. Hopefully that doesn't bleed over into the show... In the first hour, SKOR North's Judd Zulgad hears about some of the crew's lactose problems and talks about the 9-year old Chiefs fan who is being criticised by some for his face paint, and KSTP's Chris Egert informs the show about how a house was demolished from a fire and explosion and weighs in on KRAFT's new "not" mac and cheese. Hour #2 has the group try to get inside the mind of a flat-earther, everyone learns about the attorney that just refuses to stop defecating in Pringles cans, and discuss Henry Kissinger's death. In hour #3 Kristyn Burtt discusses dating in your 70s. It's not quite relevant to her, but we've all known at least one 70 year old, so it's a mere degree of separation. The boomers and millennials, however, are separated by two degrees. That's the kind of division that creates enemies for life. Or at least until the next generation grows up enough to become even more worthy of disdain. On the Family, we make a humble request. Just 10% of the interest Harvard could make on their money. Even at 7% interest, that's only .7%. Basically a rounding error. It's also potentially hundreds of millions of dollars, but when you're a small, grassroots non-profit like Harvard, a hundred million bucks is something you won't even miss. Tom Barnard Show: Hour 1 - Never discuss fruit at the dinner table

The countdown to Christmas officially begins today with the calendar flipping to December, and what better way to celebrate than with a jam packed show! In the first hour, KSTP's Chris Egert hears a story about a British man who was addicted to sleeping with dead bodies, and informs about an update in the Middle East along with more info on the local house explosion that happened yesterday. Plus the crew gets at each other's throats over fruit preferences. Hour #2 has Bob Sansevere who talks about the Timberwolves' successful run so far, the Gophers losing some notable players to the transfer portal, the Wild's turnaround under their new coach, and what the Vikings should do at QB after their bye week. Actor Bernie Kopell joins the show to talk about his new work "Our (Almost Completely True) Love Story" which releases December 8th on Amazon Instant, Apple TV, Vimeo, Google Play, Vudu, and Hoopla. Also, longtime friend of the show Brad Blanks stops by to talk about the time he shocked Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston with his size, and his run in with Julia Roberts’ body guard. In hour #3 Tim Lammers and Kristyn Burtt are united by a common goal: get people back into theaters. Step one is to solve the cell phone issue. Of course, every solution costs money and relies largely on the honor system. And if these people had honor to begin with, they wouldn't be ruining your movie experience in the first place. What a paradox. On the Family, prepare to get serious. No, not because Josh Arnold is in and money is serious business. Today we also have Patty Wetterling, mother of Jacob Wetterling, in studio. She and Joy Baker have written a book, Dear Jacob, which you could describe as "heavy". Tom Barnard Show: Hour 1 - Bill Engvall's time has come

The crew looks over the headlines of the day and what a surprise, everyone hates everyone and is suing every person they know. Hopefully that doesn't bleed over into the show... In the first hour, SKOR North's Judd Zulgad talks about the very rare "good" night in Minnesota sports with the Timberwolves picking up a win over the Thunder and the Wild snapping their losing streak, and KSTP's Chris Egert informs the show about a big fire in Eagan that occurred overnight and the seasonal opening of Afton Alps. Iconic comedian Bill Engvall joins the show to talk about his final stand-up special called "Here's Your Sign, It's Finally Time - My Last Show" which releases December 5th on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, YouTube, Google Play, Dish, and a number of cable providers! Hour #2 sees the team review the top headlines from the day including a man who believed his girlfriend was a witch and a lady who found a finger in her salad at a restaurant. In hour #3 Kristyn Burtt restrains herself from getting into the "is Die Hard a Christmas movie" debate, even though it's apparently one of the top ten Christmas movies of all time. Another debate: who is Burt Reynolds? His name is a mystery to anyone under 40. Apparently he was in some movies at some point. Perhaps we'll never know for certain. On the Family, we debate changing our name to something less offensive. To who? I don't know. Probability states that someone out there is offended by it though. It might take a while to find a name that gets universal approval from every living human, so check back in a few thousand years and we'll give you a progress update. Tom Barnard Show: Hour 2 - Eye of newt, finger of human
