Welcome to week 1 of the NFL season and week 1 of the NFL Fantasy Football season! This week on the Trifocal Football podcast I discussed the injury status of some big name players headed into week 1 and I broke down a few of the big time week 1 NFL matchups. On today's show, I am joined by a scout who've I learned a great deal from over the past few years, Dane Brugler of the Athletic. Dane is returning to the show for a 2nd appearance to talk about the 2020 NFL Draft WR class. Dane has been working on a series over at theathletic.com where he ranks his top 5 draft eligible players at each position. The WR class is so loaded he had to squeeze in 6. Dane stated in the article that this class could rival the 2014 WR class of OBJ, Mike Evans, Brandin Cooks and Davante Adams when all is said and done.  This week I am joined by a guest who is long overdue, Mike Cipes(@FFBlitz) of the DynastyTradesHQ podcast. Mike is a good friend of mine and was my first guest back when I started the Dynasty Warzone podcast so it was only fitting that I made him one of  my early guests on the 1st season of the TriFocal Football podcast. To start the show, Mike and I discuss our passion of collecting football cards & memorabilia. We discuss our different tastes in cards and methods of purchasing cards before tying it all into fantasy football.  After that, Mike tells me 3 rookie cards(3 rookie players) he is buying before this fantasy football season. These are players that he feels are not all that expensive to trade for and may pay big dividends for you fantasy football team before the end of the season. Next, Mike discusses his strategy of waiting on rookies & not using all of his rookie picks but rather selling rookie picks + for players who are established and going into their 2nd or 3rd season. Mike tells me of 1 recent trade he has made that fits that strategy and I go over 1 of mine as well. Before wrapping up I discuss 3 football wishes I would make for my 32nd birthday on July 15th, 1 for each decade.
