Special Guest Laurette Smith - Silencing the Inner Critic
Episode in
The Wellness Glow
This week I have a really interesting guest from Seattle, Washington (formerly New Zealand), Laurette Smith is a Women’s Coach and Support Group Leader and has been doing this important work since 2000. She’s a certified life coach and has been featured as a Conference and Retreat speaker, as well as creating numerous materials and tools for both mentoring and coaching programs. She uses the scientific principles of the emotional brain vs the logical brain to help women implement positive changes in their lives and change habits. On the podcast this week we’re talking about how to silence the inner critic (we all have one!) so that we can use this skill to make long term changes to support our physical, mental and emotional health.
Born and raised in New Zealand, she moved to the US in 1996 with her husband, Leighton. They’ve been married for 31 years, live in Seattle, and have 4 children aged 19 to 25.
?Her passion for helping women grew out of her experiences of severe childhood sexual abuse. She developed an eating disorder as a teenager which grew into bulimia. She was diagnosed with extreme PTSD and ended up having a breakdown which left her emotionally stuck. Out of desperation for change, she began to develop tools to change the messages she was playing in my head. Her work with women now focuses primarily on teaching them how to love their bodies, enjoy their lives and coach their inner critic so they can live life the way they want to.
?She runs a free Facebook group called "Love, Laugh, Liberty" and you can check it out at this link - https://www.facebook.com/groups/LoveLaughLiberty/

Special Guest - Meditation Expert and Fertility Warrior Josephine Atluri
Episode in
The Wellness Glow
This week I have a special guest all the way from Los Angeles California. Josephine Atluri knows something about the anxiety that comes with fearing the unknown and feeling out of control. The certified meditation teacher journeyed through miscarriage, adoption, IVF, and surrogacy over the course of several years, finally welcoming five children into her family.
Now, she’s using the experience she gained in negotiating life’s curveballs to help others do the same, and the timing couldn’t be more critical. “Adversity coupled with feeling helpless is affecting all of us right now,” she says. “But we can all manage our response in a healthy way. We all have the tools within us, and just need to know how to tap into them.”
Josephine uses group and individual meditation classes to give her students these coping mechanisms and affirmations. She also shares them on her podcast, “Responding to Life,” and offers free, guided 15-minute meditations via Zoom every Wednesday. She also offers free monthly meditations at www.jatluri.com

Special Guest Dr Anna Cabeca - Sexual Health Through the Decades
Episode in
The Wellness Glow
This week I have a very special guest from the USA - Dr. Anna Cabeca is an internationally-acclaimed menopause and sexual health expert, global speaker and pioneering promoter of women’s health. She is Emory University-trained and triple board-certified in gynecology and obstetrics, integrative medicine and anti-aging and regenerative medicine, and an USA Today and Amazon #1 Best Selling Author of “The Hormone Fix,” a diet and holistic lifestyle program for menopausal women.
Also noteworthy, is her Keto-Green™ diet and lifestyle that focuses on ketogenic eating paired with an alkaline diet and intermittent fasting. Her Keto-Green way naturally manages your body’s most important hormones, and if followed properly, will help address and correct the symptoms and side effects that come along with imbalanced hormones.
A new-found entrepreneur, she used her expertise and life experiences to create a brand and company that helps women combat negative hormone-related symptoms and implement natural and easy-to-follow solutions that will have them feeling happier, healthier and confident. Dr. Cabeca created the successful and popular alkaline superfoods drink Mighty Maca® PLUS, and a top-selling, rejuvenating feminine vulvar cream for women, Julva®. In her spare time, Dr. Cabeca hosts the highly-regarded series “Couch Talk,” featuring compelling podcasts focused on a wide variety of important health and wellness topics.
Dr. Anna’s compelling story is inspired by her own life experiences; she went through menopause twice – the first time at 38 after suffering a tragedy of losing a toddler, and then again at 50 years old. She was actually able to reverse her own early menopause at 38 (and the probability of doing this is about 1%!), and went on to conceive a beautiful daughter.
She was named “2018 Innovator of the Year” by Mindshare, the #1 conference for health and wellness influencers, and was also honored with the prestigious 2017 Alan P. Mintz award, presented annually by the Age Management Medicine Group to the most outstanding physician who displays clinical excellence and entrepreneurship. Her blog was named one of the Top 50 Menopause Blogs and Websites to Follow in 2019 by Feedspot.
Dr. Cabeca has reached hundreds of thousands of women around the globe, inspiring them to reclaim their optimal health and realize they can journey through menopause and find more purpose and pleasure than they ever dreamed possible. She balances her passion for women’s health with faith, grace and skill, while raising her four daughters, and leading the non-profit foundation she created in honor of her son, Garrett V. Bivens, who tragically died as a toddler.
Dr. Cabeca infuses her presentations with humor, raw connection and passion, and she impacts lives each and every day. Follow her journey on her blog at DrAnnaCabeca.com and connect with her on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Special Guest - Murray Hidary
Episode in
The Wellness Glow
This week’s special guest is all the way from New York City and I’m so excited for you to hear the incredible messages of Murray Hidary - composer, adventurer, tech entrepreneur, photographer and mindfulness leader. He uses music, art and nature experiences to inspire others to deepen their mind-body connection.
Murray’s goal is to create the space for people to have a powerful journey, which is at once provocative and reflective, healing and transcendent. Murray’s musical performances are a fusion of contemporary classical style, and contain a highly original expression of the avant garde, presented to audiences in concert halls, beaches, parks and beyond. For Murray, music communicates a profound coalescence of language and concept – a bridge connecting that which is hidden with that which is manifest.
