Will unlocking €10.3bn in a bailout loan help ease the current financial crisis in Greece? Thanos Dimadis, Greek fi...

On Wednesday, European officials agreed to unlock €10.3bn to Greece in the form of a bailout loan, in a bid to help ease financial pressure the country faces from it's €321bn debt pile. This money will make up the second installment in the third bailout agreement made back in August of last year, and while Greece's finance minister thinks there is 'some ground for optimism' from this in helping to end the cycle of recession, not everyone is convinced this loan will make a difference. To find out more about the on going financial crisis in Greece, and just how this bail out loan will help, if at all, Fiona Norman spoke with Thanos Dimadis, author, journalist. Greek financial crisis expert, and correspondent in Washington for ALPHA TV. First Broadcast 29/05/16.

How has shareholder eco-activism effected ExxonMobil? Andrew Freedman, Mashable's Science Editor, explains on The Wor...

For years, shareholders have been trying to encourage companies to change one way or by putting forward resolutions. This form of Shareholder activism has been gathering momentum with environmentally conscientious shareholders, though as they force ExxonMobil Corp. and Chevron to consider the impacts of global warming in their business plans. Each year, green-warrior activist throw these curveball resolutions and each year profitable conglomerates knock them out of the park. Until Wednesday, when climate-related resolutions received by far their highest level of support on record in the history of ExxonMobil. At Exxon's AGM in Texas, 38% of shareholders voted in favour of a resolution that would have required the company to prepare an annual report examining the implications to the company's business if world leaders follow through on their pledges to keep global warming to less than 2 degrees Celsius, or 3.6 degrees Fahrenheit, above pre-industrial levels. Though the bill did not quite pass- it made waves. Rita Lobo spoke with Andrew Freedman who is Mashable's Science Editor- and started by asking him if an environmental pressure valve has been triggered at ExxonMobil.
