Beta testing can be a great way to improve your content. In fact, I used to beta test all my programs! But I’ve discovered an approach I like even better: working with founding members! This approach means you don’t have to create content before getting paid for it. It also allows you to get “credit card proof” early in the course creation process.

I’m back with a new solo show! I wanted to talk about a question that I get asked a lot, which is what should I do when my course does not sell? My biggest piece of advice in this situation is not to give up! But to learn from your results and use them to help you create successful launches in the future. We start with some tough but important questions to ask yourself. Then we get into action steps: surveying people who expressed interest but did not actually end up buying your course and analyzing your funnel to asses where people fell off. We also talk about the importance of showing lots of love to the people who did sign up for your course—and how this can make a difference for the future.

One of the questions I get asked most often is whether or not I think an entrepreneur is ready to create an online course. The truth is, being ready to start an online course is not all about numbers or how long you've been in business-- rather, it's about having a topic you're passionate about, an audience who trusts and loves your work, and a good sense of what that audience needs in a course. In this episode, we're talking more about how you can find your niche, build your audience, and get to know what your audience needs.
