Bolivia: Behind the Coup
Episode in
Travelogue
Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores from Perú [CC BY-SA 2.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0)]
On November 10, 2019 Evo Morales, the first indigenous president of Bolivia, was forced to resign in a U.S. backed, far-right coup. What’s followed has been waves of murder and violence against indigenous protesters.
Additionally, we look back at the anti-WTO demonstrations commonly known as “The Battle of Seattle”.

Chile, Ecuador, and State Repression
Episode in
Travelogue
This episode features some of the media coverage of the popular uprisings in Chile and Ecuador, and the continuing resistance to neoliberalism in Latin America. Also mentioned are some historical markers: Revolution Day in Guatemala, October 20, 1954 (75 years), and the anti-WTO demnostrations in Seattle 1999 (20 years). Travelogue Media also takes a moment to remember the life of the slain folk singer Victor Jara, one of the first victims of General Agosto Pinchet’s brutal military regime in Chile (1973-1990).

Chile, Ecuador, and State Repression
Episode in
Travelogue
This episode features media coverage of the popular uprisings in Chile and Ecuador, and the continuing resistance to neoliberalism in Latin America. Also mentioned are some historical markers: Revolution Day in Guatemala, October 20, 1954 (75 years), and the anti-WTO demnostrations in Seattle 1999 (20 years).
Remembering Victor Jara
Travelogue Media takes a moment to remember the life of the slain folk singer Victor Jara. Jara was one of the first victims of General Agosto Pinchet’s brutal military regime in Chile (1973-1990).
**UPDATE** Pablo Albufom, the author of one of the articles discussed in this episode, was recently featured in Jacobin’s podcast to discuss the situation in Chile. Listen here: https://pca.st/ursg0xpp

International Podcast Day 2019
Episode in
Travelogue
Every year around this time I get very excited to prepare a special edition of the podcast for International Podcast Day. As I was looking for some ideas, I checked out some of the videos from last year’s livestream. Podcasters from all around the world presenting their insights and experiences in podcasting: building community, promoting culture, having conversations, and learning as they go. This is what’s really exciting about this unique form of communication. International Podcast Day offers us a great way to connect, learn, and share.
