When We Don't Understand ... Ask Questions

Episode in UNpacking
We are diving into asking questions when we don’t understand something.  So we have all been confused about things or had certain topics we don’t understand.   When we assume things instead of ask questions it can be harmful.  It is naive on our part. It’s also a missed opportunity.  Try to pinpoint what you don’t understand.  What is unclear? What do we need clarity around? What do we want clarity around?  What do you want to know? What do you need to know?   Also ask those clarifying questions. For example, if I am understanding this right … Or what I hear you saying is …  Take the time, if you don’t understand something simply ask questions!    Paypal:  paypal.me/stephdennis13   For show notes go to: unpackingpodcast.com      To connect:  Instagram:  @stephdennis13  Facebook: www.facebook.com/stephdennis13 Twitter:  @stephdennis13    You’re awesome!!  Go be your amazing self today!!!  --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/unpacking/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/unpacking/support

Let's Talk Limiting Beliefs with Ryan Borawski

Episode in UNpacking
Have you ever been curious what could be holding you back from achieving your dreams and/or goals? Today we are talking about limiting beliefs with Ryan Borawski.  Ryan’s Instagram:  @ryanborawski  Ryan’s Twitter:  @RyanJBorawski  Ryan’s website:  ryanborawski.com    Ryan is a corporate trainer for his full time position and he also has a side life coaching business.    What’s the difference between limiting beliefs and fear?  There are two types of fears. Legitimate fears, for example I do not want to touch a hot stove.  There is really good fear. There is a lot of bad fear.    When you look at how you tell the difference between limiting beliefs and fear is it whether or not you have taken action or is deeper than that?    A lot of times limiting beliefs are preventing us from taking action.  Surround yourself with people who will help you raise your standards.    How do you go about identifying a limiting belief?    A lot of times you can’t identify them on your own because you need someone to cover your blindspots.    Exercise:  Write down the beliefs you have.  Circle the ones that are empowering. Identify how they are getting you to where you want to go.  Then look at the disempowering beliefs and question them. Where did I develop these from? Who did I develop this from? How is this limiting me from getting to where I want to go? Was the person I learned this from worth modeling?   Essentially you are creating doubt through your questions.  If you associate enough pain to those beliefs you’ll change them.  We focus on determines what we feel.    How do you prevent that limiting belief from creeping back into your thought space? Create empowering beliefs. Affirmations are important and affirmations are only as important as the action that you take.  --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/unpacking/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/unpacking/support

Episode in UNpacking
Today we are talking about call out culture and call in culture.    I’m going to start with call out culture and we are going to define it. What is the difference between religion and spirituality? Let’s compare and contrast the two!

Episode in UNpacking
Religion and spirituality, both are pretty heavy topics which we don’t shy away from around here.  I want to start off by saying either is right or wrong.  One might be more attractive to each particular person depending on what they are looking for and what resonates with them.    According to the Google dictionary, religion is defined by the belief in and worship of super human controlling power, especially a personal God or Gods.  Spirituality is defined as the quality of being concerned with the human spirit or soul as opposed to material or physical things.  Agnostic is defined by a person who believes that nothing is known or can be known of the existence or nature of God or of anything beyond material phenomena, a person who claims neither faith or disbelief in God.  The two things I wanted to compare and contrast if you will is religion and spirituality.  --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/unpacking/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/unpacking/support

Goal Setting / Life Evaluation / Prioritization / Assessment

Episode in UNpacking
Before we look to set goals, we have to look at the different areas of our lives and make sure we are focusing on the right area. As you guys know life is complicated, there is so much happening all the time, one quarter, one month even, hell even one week we may want to focus on our career and the very next week there might  be something going on where we need to focus on family.  I’m going to have you list out the different areas of your life.  Some areas may include:  Family Friends Kids / Children Pets  Spirituality / Faith / Religion  Personal Growth & Development  Self Care / Self Love / Alone Time  Spouse / Partner  Dating  Marriage  School / Education  Relationships  Health / Fitness / Movement  Money / Finances / Wealth  Hobbies  Side Businesses / Side Projects    What I want you to do is rate yourself in each category from 1-10. 1 being really bad 10 being really good    As you are setting these goals, let’s use the SMART acronym.  S = Specific  M = Measurable A = Achievable  R = Relevant  T = Time bound / Timely --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/unpacking/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/unpacking/support
