As Catholics we are called to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ. But more often than not, what's getting spread is Fake News, not the Good news. We evangelize a Jesus who does not exist—one who loves without condition, and without a standard; one who has mercy but no judgement. We preach or talk about a Gospel that's a fairy tale—half truths of the Gospel, or a summary of the full Gospel that's so incomplete, it's practically a fairy tale. And then some of us aren't spreading the Gospel at all. What should we be doing differently as Catholics in the laity and in the Catholic Church hierarchy? In the modern age, we suspect the "Good News" is bring spread throughout the world, but the fact is that more often than not what we're spreading is Fake News. Following the inauguration of President Trump, we continue to see mass hysteria throughout the culture, and liberals shouting the same tired talking points. People talk a good game about "Freedom". But freedom comes from God, who gave humanity this precious gift. There are different portraits that people "paint" of the Catholic Church, and of the Catholic faith. Most of them do not accurately represent the real thing. Portraits are a person's interpretation of a subject. Some "artists" take creative license when painting those portraits and some are just too unskilled to paint a portrait that accurately represents the subject. Don't get confused by following a portrait of the Church. The Church is the Mystical Body of Christ. There is a correlation between the Church, God's revelation through the prophets, through the Incarnate Word (Jesus Christ), and the Church in the modern world today. In this episode I talk about that correlation and how it applies to the modern era in which the Church is facing opposition from a new "pagan Rome", which is the modern secular world. When we don't observe the whole of time, we become like trains running off the rails at high speed. Some people obsess over the past, but ignore the present and future. Catholics are starting to come as unhinged as those in the secular world. The world needs us to be better than that.
