Light Of The World

“The Word become flesh.”  That phrase is more than just a good introduction to the central figure of the New Testament. God himself did actually come to Earth as a baby. The Christmas story has been heard in countless languages over thousands of years. However, another question often goes unsettled. Why did He come? Why did He do it? God chose the fragile and tiny vessel of an infant to rescue a planet. Why pierce the darkness of a broken world by using the life of a delicate child? Join us for our Christmas series, Light Of The World, as we seek to discover why God broke into human history as an infant and look beyond the moment that the Word became flesh.

In Christ - Week 10

Who we are and where we belong are questions we all wrestle with. People find answers to those questions in many different places: work, friends, possessions, performance, etc. But the truth can only be found in knowing who we are in Christ.

. . .so that. . .

Have you ever considered why you are here? Not in some new age-y, abstract way, but in a why are you in this community, during this time in history, with these relationships, doing the things you do, being part of this church kind of way? The Bible teaches that God sent Jesus ….so that… we could have a personal relationship with Him as our savior. We gather to grow in our knowledge and relationship with Jesus ….so that… we can go into our community to help a hurting world. You have been given gifts, talents, and experiences ….so that… you can use those as tools to build authentic relationships that help guide others toward Jesus. At WCC, we believe that God has you right where you are ….so that… He can use you to love your neighbor and share the hope of the Gospel. Join us for a new series ….so that… you can learn more about the role you play in God’s story and in the stories of the people in our community, during this time, through these relationships, while doing the things you do, growing as part of this church.

Life Together (Baptism Celebration)

The relationships we experience with others has the biggest impact on our individual lives. The people we are spending our time with, says a lot about our direction, choices and priorities. We don’t always consciously think about how our friends and family speak into our life and choices or how we may be speaking into theirs. We just heard a series of messages about choosing to live life on purpose, more specifically His Purpose for us. We are going to spend the next few weeks in a series hearing about how we are called to live life of mission with others. Sharing in community with other Christ-followers is pivotal, both to our growth and our understanding of the mission we’re called to live out. The Bible says, “you all,” as in TOGETHER, go and share the Gospel of Christ.

On Purpose

Repent. It means more than just confessing our wrongdoing, we are also called to turn away and walk the opposite direction. Peter explains in his first sermon that to keep from sin we must turn away. Daily we are called to live differently and walk away from the corrupt and crooked. When we choose to set this example, it doesn’t mean we have to uproot our current life, it just means we live intentionally wherever we are. At work, at our kids’ game, with friends, or even at church, He calls us to live for Him. We have a purpose, and it is to live differently.
