Weekly Texas Country Concert Calendar

With the Corona virus threat, it is impossible to fulfill our concert habit.  I’ve been listening and watching some of the live acoustic concerts and so far have been very disappointed.  I know we are all wanting to hear our favorite artists, but what is coming out is very bad audio and video quality.  Most are recording on an ipad or iphone.  I put together a little acoustic set and produced this yesterday.  Enjoy and let me know some feedback.  I’d like to start to get many of our favorite artist to come do a short set so we can actually enjoy the content that is being produced.  Remember, the content that is put out today will be seen for years to come.  It should be something the artist and fans can enjoy forever.  What I’ve seen so far has been very forgettable.  Check back with us at musicnewsfirst.com for the latest music news and live recordings.  I plan to livestream a few concerts next week.  Thanks for listening and feedback is appreciated. 

It won’t come as a surprise to you that this week is pretty much all bad news. Most concerts in Fort Worth have been cancelled, and every venue in Dallas has been asked to shut down due to public health concerns. The show must go on though, and some shows in smaller north Texas cities are still planning to take the stage. Even for the shows that are still on the books, you should probably call ahead to the venue to make sure it’s still happening. It’s going to be a rough few weeks or months for your favorite bands and artists, so try to find a way to support local country music – download a track on Bandcamp or iTunes, buy a t-shirt, or check the band website to see if they have any other way you can support them. Stay safe, stay healthy, and good luck with your concerts.

His newest song, ‘Whiskey’s Workin’ Well‘ hit number one. It was a great time, with great music, a great crowd, and spending time with an even better human in Jamie Richards. If you’ve yet to come out to a real country music show, this is the man to see live. This past weekend, I attended Jon Wolfe at the Mule Barn.  It was a great time and there was a good vibe.  If you’ve never been to a Jon Wolfe show, treat yourself to some good ol’ country music.  Bring a 2-stepper, cause you will sure need it when Jon starts pumping out the old 90’s country tunes.
