What's In Your Closet?

I am back from a brief hiatus and the closet is fully stocked! First let's discuss the Instagram account Diet Prada's legal suit with Dolce and Gabbana. Is it defamation or is saying facts? Then I give my brutal opinion on Versace's "new" pattern. Which, is giving me a variety of a whole lot of other luxury brands.  It's good to be back! 

In the closet this week we are discussing how what clothes we wear affects the message that we want to say. This can be seen In the controversy of the new Vogue cover of Vice President-elect Kamala Harris shown wearing converse. We also discuss the symbolism behind Nancy Pelosi wearing the same suit for the second Impeachment hearings of President Donald Trump. Other topics covered on this podcast Include Chanel's new podcast, and Prada costuming the new Billie Holiday biopic. 

It's the first episode of 2021! In the closet this week, we have Essie making their formula vegan and 8 free. LVMH has officially acquired Tiffany & Co and Is shaking things up with management, with good ole fashion nepotism. Then we touch on how  Shopify took a stance against Trump supporters. *Trigger Warning* The last topic discusses the sexual assault allegations against Alexander Wang 

In the closet this week we are covering stories of three major beauty brands. First up, we have the pink closet of Glossier that has officially trademarked the color pink. Next, we move over to Vaseline's new collaboration with three black Influencers. Lastly, Function of Beauty Is adding a brick and mortar closet to their portfolio, with their latest collaboration with Target.  Listen to make your closet just a little more fashionable! 

In this week's episode, we are exploring the closet's of Burberry, Good American, and Pantone. Burberry has partnered with the British Fashion Council for its call for sustainability. Good American has launched an "inclusive" shoe line, but its price point is anything but Inclusive.  Finally, we begin to close the doors in 2020 and discuss the Pantone colors of the year for 2021. 

On this week's episode, I discuss how Sephora has left JCPenny's closet and moved into Kohl's.  Jlo has launched a skincare line and this is one celebrity beauty line I can get behind. Lastly, we'll close the closet with H&M's new collaboration with Diane Von Furstenburg.

Is it copyright or a copy cat? That is the question we are asking fashion brands in the closet this week. We discuss the fashion Influencer Danielle Bernstein of the brand We Wore What and her multiple copyright legalities. Then, we discuss how Nike is taking down a streetwear brand for using its iconic Nike dunks without their permission. The closet is full of what counts as copyright infringement and the many difficulties that occur in copyrighting with fashion brands.
