Jamelia's advice for single parents to help save the pennies in holiday time

Episode in Women Today
Any parents of school aged children who are listening will be well aware that is half term. Which means finding ways to keep the young folk entertained and happy, while also trying not to break the bank. Imagine dealing with this as a single parent– having to find a way to look after the children while also holding down a job, and digging around for those extra pennies to pay for activities. New research by Equifax has looked into how much families spending during this week, and has shed light on how single parents struggle to accommodate the extra costs. What a day for a daydream!

Episode in Women Today
Do you daydream at work? Do you feel bad about it? Well fear not! Apparently, it can be a really good thing! It has now been proven that daydreaming can help with creativity, productivity and performance. Apparently, being somewhere else that’s warmer, sunnier and quieter is amongst the most popular fantasies for British daydreamers..unsurprisingly...Christy caught up with Broadcaster, Writer and TV Psychologist Emma Kenny to find out more about why we daydream in the first place – and just a side note, the interview was scheduled for 11.10am, which was quite ironic as research has found that the most likely time to daydream is 11:20am... They just about got thought it!

#Goldilocks - a fairytale for the digital age

Episode in Women Today
Storytelling has been used as both a form of entertainment and education for hundreds if not thousands of years, and parents are still using stories today as a method of teaching their children about the world - and dangers - around them. To highlight digital safety and wellbeing when it comes to young people and technology, a new book has been released to help parents talk to their little ones about social media and how to use it responsibly. ‘#Goldilocks’ is a collaboration between the award-winning children’s author Jeanne Willis and the UK’s number one illustrator Tony Ross and is a re-imagined version of the original fairy tale, updated for a modern audience. Christy spoke with Jeanne along with Helen Lamprell from the Vodafone Foundation, to find out all about the book and get some advice on how to ensure children stay safe online.
