Pride. A look back

David is joined by Matt Grant for a discussion of Pride Month focusing on David's own coming out period from the Stonewall Riot in New York City through the "gay plague" of AIDS that brought the party life to a halt in the 1980's. This week, David is interviewed by Matt Grant as he describes his meeting with His Royal Highness, Prince Phillip at a garden reception at Buckingham Palace in the late 1990's. Prince Phillip arranged the meeting with David as he wanted to learn about the phenomenon of the Internet from one of it's early innovators. We learn the procedure of how one is invited to a meeting at the palace and finally the one provocative question that Prince Phillip had for David, and his response.

A Tech Savvy Senior?

This week David shares and mocks, a condescending article that was sent to him with a dramatic reading, complete with old time music of, "How to become tech savvy seniors in ten days", although he does find a few useful resources in the article. Later we learn how in some relationships one partner is the tech expert and advises that the techie leave some written notes including passwords to the accounts just in case the tech partner passes first. We conclude with some of David's recommendations of some of his favorite TV series on streaming services.

Post Election Stress, The Year 2008, David was a Poll Watcher

This weeks show was recorded a few days after the election and David & Stephanie discuss post election stress and try to put it all in perspective. They both conclude that whichever way the results fall, "It's going to be alright". Stephanie discusses gender roles throughout history from ancient times right through today. The focus year this week is 2008 which was also a monumental election with the Democratic party choosing between two firsts, an African American or a woman to be their party's standard bearer. David continues the theme of the election relaying how after the long election and serving as a poll watcher in his county , the whole process has left him feeling numb.
