New Yin Fall & Tuning Into The Metal Element

S6| Ep. 5 In this episode, I dive into what the metal element means for us as we move into fall. I discuss how this season is all about letting go, whether that’s old habits, clutter, or even emotions weighing us down. I share some of my own rituals, like decluttering my books and bags, and why it’s so important to make space for new things to come in. One of the biggest takeaways is that grief and release are natural parts of this season. It’s okay to feel what you feel, and it’s healthy to let go of what no longer serves you. I offer a few journal prompts to help you reflect on your boundaries, your sense of purpose, and what you’re ready to release. I also mention a book I love, “Follow Your Tao” by Stephanie Nosco, for anyone who wants to go deeper into the five elements. And as always, I encourage you to connect with me, share your thoughts, and take some time this fall to clear space—both inside and out. Timestamps:00:00 Introduction 00:33 Welcome 02:17 Waitlist info 08:37 What is the metal element 13:25 Grief and letting go 23:01 Journal prompts 27:11 My fall ritual 31:20 Book recommendation 32:17 Final thoughts 34:09 Goodbye Also mentioned in this episode: The 5 elements 101 The Art of letting go: Fall and the metal element Dancing with the Tao  Want to support my work? When A Student Walks Out of Your Yin Class

In this episode of the Yin Yoga podcast, I discuss what to do when a student walks out. As a seasoned teacher, I'll share personal experiences and address the emotional and logistical considerations for Yoga Teachers in these situations. A student's decision to leave often has more to do with their individual needs than the instructor's abilities. I also reflect on community feedback, the importance of class descriptions, and coping mechanisms for teachers. This episode blends storytelling with practical advice, aiming to support Yoga Instructors in maintaining a grounded and understanding classroom environment. 00:00 Introduction to the YinYoga Podcast 02:38 Today's Topic: Handling Students Leaving Class 02:55 Heartfelt Listener Feedback 09:54 Encouragement for Reviews and Subscriptions 10:46 Personal Experiences with Students Leaving 18:44 A Memorable Yin Yoga Class Experience 22:30 Unexpected Class Dynamics 24:19 Handling Discomfort in Class 25:22 Students' Reasons for Leaving 27:28 Teacher's Perspective on Students Leaving 37:23 Class Descriptions and Expectations 43:33 Final Thoughts and Reflections 48:06 Engagement and Gratitude Want to support my work?
