Is Losing a part of Growth?⁉️ This morning, my two lovely children Precious and Peter were having their breakfast when suddenly Precious screamed with excitement, with her mouth wide open and her palm displaying her Molar (big tooth). In her voice ‘mummy mummy my big tooth just fell off’ In my mind I was like why is she excited? I was more particular about the blood coming from the site( not much though), the pain she might be having and I was concerned she might not be able to eat well. To my surprise Precious was more excited as she said to me “ Mummy, that’s means I’m growing “ Hmmm! There and then it occurred to me that she’s so right. You see, the path to greatness is not a paved road. It is filled with potholes of lament, moments of utter frustration, and relentless attacks of doubt. But one aspect of this journey that can land a huge blow is losing- to become a loser, to lose, to not win, to be last. Have I lost before? Yes Have you lost before? You tell me. How do you feel? Though Precious lost a strong and important member of the tooth family (molar), useful in the mastication process, she was more focused on the fact that a new molar will spring up as she grows. Yes when we lose something or someone we consider very important like the “Molar”, we feel like we are over or life is over, The thing is, ultimately, losing paves the way to your learning and learning is an invaluable tool for growth. In my personal journey in life so far, there are moments when I am stopped in my tracks, simply because I choose too. There have been marks left in this path. Do you want an ANCHOR? Are you anchored on Christ and is your hope in Him or have you fastened your anchor to the things of this life?  Will your anchor truly hold in the tumultuous tempest of this life by resting and remaining in Christ, body, soul and spirit? Will you lay fast hold of that hope set before you? Will you anchor your hope on Christ, or will you allow the pain, problems and disappointments of life to overwhelm you ? As you yield freely and fully to the dynamic life and power of the Holy Spirit, you will abandon the cravings of your self-life. For your self-life craves the things that offend the Holy Spirit and hinder him from living free within you! And the Holy Spirit’s intense cravings hinder your old self-life from dominating you! So then, the two incompatible and conflicting forces within you are your self-life of the flesh and the new creation life of the Spirit. But when you are brought into the full freedom of the Spirit of grace, you will no longer be living under the domination of the law, but soaring above it! The cravings of the self-life are obvious: Sexual immorality, lustful thoughts, pornography, chasing after things instead of God, manipulating others, hatred of those who get in your way, senseless arguments, resentment when others are favored, temper tantrums, angry quarrels, only thinking of yourself, being in love with your own opinions, being envious of the blessings of others, murder, uncontrolled addictions, wild parties, and all other similar behavior. Haven’t I already warned you that those who use their “freedom” for these things will not inherit the kingdom realm of God! But the fruit produced by the Holy Spirit within you is divine love in all its varied expressions: joy that overflows, peace that subdues, patience that endures, kindness in action, a life full of virtue, faith that prevails, gentleness of heart, and strength of spirit. Never set the law above these qualities, for they are meant to be limitless. Keep in mind that we who belong to Jesus, the Anointed One, have already experienced crucifixion. For everything connected with our self-life was put to death on the cross and crucified with Messiah. We must live in the Holy Spirit and follow after him. So may we never be arrogant, or look down on another, for each of us is an original. We must forsake all jealousy that diminishes the value of others.
