Description of Politicians, Power, and Prostitution: The Boston & D.C. Scandal (Part 1) (2/17/25)

In November 2023, federal authorities arrested three individuals—Han Lee, James Lee, and Junmyung Lee—for allegedly operating a sophisticated high-end prostitution network spanning the greater Boston area and eastern Virginia. The network reportedly catered to a clientele that included elected officials, military officers, high-tech and pharmaceutical executives, doctors, government contractors with security clearances, professors, attorneys, scientists, and accountants. The operation involved renting luxury apartments in locations such as Cambridge and Watertown, Massachusetts, as well as Fairfax and Tysons, Virginia, which were used as brothels. The defendants advertised their services through websites like bostontopten10.com and browneyesgirlsva.blog, which purported to offer professional photography sessions with nude Asian models as a front for prostitution. Clients were subjected to a thorough vetting process, requiring them to provide personal information, including employer details and references, before booking appointments.

In September 2024, Han Lee pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to persuade individuals to travel interstate for prostitution and money laundering. She admitted to managing the network, coordinating travel and accommodations for primarily Asian women, and concealing over $1 million in proceeds through various means, including converting cash into money orders. Following her plea, co-defendant Junmyung Lee also pleaded guilty to similar charges in October 2024, acknowledging his role as a booking agent for the network. Despite the high-profile nature of the clientele, authorities have not publicly disclosed the identities of the clients, nor have any clients been charged. The women involved in the operation have been treated as victims and were not criminally charged. Sentencing for Han Lee is scheduled for December 20, 2024, where she faces up to 25 years in prison.
