As we continue our Romans (Heaven Sent) series, Robin Vonk will explore Paul and the Romans in Romans 1:8-15. In this passage, Paul expresses his deep gratitude for the faith of the Roman believers, his longing to visit them, and his eagerness to share the gospel—a message that is for all people, Jew and Gentile alike.
Paul’s words reveal a heart that is completely captivated by the gospel. He sees it as the power of God for salvation and is compelled to preach it wherever he goes. His desire to strengthen the Roman church reminds us that faith is not meant to be lived in isolation but in community, encouraging and building one another up in Christ.
At its core, this passage points us to the heart of the gospel: God’s salvation is a gift of grace, freely given to all who believe in Jesus. Paul himself was once an enemy of Christ, yet by God’s mercy, he was transformed into a messenger of the very gospel he once opposed. His story reminds us that no one is beyond the reach of God’s grace and that the good news of Jesus is for all people, in all places, for all time.
Join us for this All-In Service as we reflect on what it means to be a people shaped by the gospel—grateful for God’s work in our lives, eager to share the good news, and committed to strengthening one another in faith.
