When God Asks Us to Carry the Cross | Daily Homily August 30, 2026

In this homily, Fr. Luke Mary Fletcher, CFR reflects on what it means to carry the cross, especially when suffering and difficulties seem to make no sense. Through the examples of Jeremiah, Saint Peter, Padre Pio, Saint Faustina, and his own experience, he reminds us that Jesus does not ask us to carry a cross He was unwilling to carry Himself.

Even when we cannot see the reason for our suffering, God is still at work. What looks like a tangled mess from our perspective may one day reveal a beautiful tapestry in heaven.
