Welcome to The Daily Quote—a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, for January 12th.
Let’s dive in and make this morning a little brighter and a whole lot more intentional.
Today is Stick To Your New Year’s Resolutions Day—a timely nudge to remind you about those goals you set just 12 days ago. Are they still going strong, or are they on life support? No judgment here—just encouragement.
Yesterday was Vision Board Day and the day before yesterday was Quitter's Day... this is the fourth day in a row encouraging you to keep going and achieve those goals.
And if vision boards and inspirational holidays don't cut it for you...
It’s also Work Harder Day. You know, for those times when sticking to those resolutions feels like herding cats, the answer might just be to double down. Work a little harder, dig a little deeper, and keep moving forward.
Now, let’s ground ourselves with a little wisdom. Today’s quote comes from the great Zig Ziglar:
"People do not wander around and find themselves at the top of Mount Everest. You have to climb there."

It’s perfect for Stick To Your New Year’s Resolutions Day, isn’t it? Achieving big goals isn’t about aimlessly hoping to stumble across success. Nope, it’s about lacing up your boots, grabbing your gear, and putting in the effort one step at a time—even when the altitude starts messing with your head.

Think about this: every resolution, whether it’s hitting the gym, saving money, or finally tackling that pile of unread emails, has its own Everest. And here’s the kicker—climbing it might be hard, but isn’t staying stuck at base camp even harder? Work Harder Day is here to remind you that when the climb feels impossible, doubling down on your effort can make all the difference.
So today, I want you to think about your resolutions as mountains worth climbing. Sure, it might take sweat, grit, and a fair amount of awkwardly falling down, but every step brings you closer to that summit. And hey, when you’re taking a break, don’t forget to hug a ginger—or, better yet, plant a kiss on one if the opportunity arises. We need our cheerleaders, too!
Today is also Kiss a Ginger Day. I’ve personally reserved two kisses for my favorite ginger girls. My little cutie patooties.
There going to kill me when they hear this...
Don't forget to follow and subscribe!
I'm Andrew McGivern signing off for today but I'll be back tomorrow, same pod time, same pod station for another Daily Quote.
